These are the only classical action stars who have both format, personality and fame to be credited with a role, whilst staying true to the genre, the time period and also taking heed for a somewhat international casting:

- JEAN RENO
- WESLEY SNIPES
- JURGEN PROCHNOW
- JESSE VENTURA
- JACKIE CHAN
- MEL GIBSON
- KURT RUSSELL
- RUSSELL CROWE
- DANNY TREJO
- TCHEKY KARYO
- RUTGER HAUER
- TOM BERENGER
- CRISTOPHER LAMBERT
- LAURENCE FISHBURNE
- SAMUEL JACKSON
- ANTONIO BANDERAS
- RAY LIOTTA
- ROBERT PATRICK
- MICHAEL MADSEN
- LANCE HENRIKSEN
- DAVID CARRADINE
- TOM SAVINI
- FRED WILLIAMSON
- STEVEN SEAGAL

This is THE list. No need to add more ;)

Now start booking them, Sylvester!

Knawmean?!

reply

Come on, no Danny Glover?

reply

Hulk Hogan? Steven Seagal? HAHAHAHA! They'd probably demand to be the lead of the movie. Their egos are way too big even though they're irrelevant and nobodies compared to Sly, Arnold, ect.

reply

Seagal? A "nobody"?

You have no idea how famous Steven Seagal is. He's one of the biggest names in action films.

Knawmean?!

reply

If I can just chose one, it must be Michael Dudikoff!

reply

Definitely Bill Duke

reply

anyone say mickey rourke?

reply

Robert Ne Dior and Clint Eastwood! There should be a 60+ rule.

reply

I'm not a big Seagal fan but he should've been in there. Kurt Russell too. Nothing against Terry Crews but who the hell is he? I don't follow football so I didn't know he was in the NFL until I looked up his profile. Was he a well known football guy or something? He was good for the part and all, but it would've been cool to see a real action movie legend take his place.

I could've done without Couture too. Again, nothing against him. I liked him in the UFC but they should've thrown in some real action movie actor instead of him.

DISPLAY thy breasts, my Julia!

reply

Mel Gibson for sure. Also Charlie Sheen made a fair few action films back in the day.

reply

I use to be disappointed that Steven Seagal wasn't in either of The Expendables movies but seeing him in Machete is almost just as good. Same also goes for Danny Trejo. I've found myself comparing both movies because they're both kind of like throwbacks to old action movies featuring ensemble casts.

I would love to see Bruce Campbell, Jeff Speakman and Michael Keaton in The Expendables 3.

reply

Charlie Sheen has lost his edge with how crazy he has gotten but his brother Emilio Esteves and their dad Martin Sheen would be good.

and I have notice no one has suggested Hugh Jackman

Those that have mentioned Sigourney Weaver and Linda Hamilton LOVE IT they would be awesome.

Jay Chou would not be bad

and for another women Angelia Jolie

reply

Sho Kosugi

Michael Dudikoff and Carl Weathers. I know Weathers and Sly aren't each other's biggest fans, but people would LOVE a Rocky Apollo reunion.
