What about Roddy Piper?

Love Rowdy Roddy! "I have come here to chew bubblegum and kick ass and I'm all out of bubblegum!"
Anyone see They Live? It's a "B" movie for sure but I love it..

Along with many of the guys previously suggested, I'd love to see Micheal Rooker, he's known for supporting roles but he's a great action actor, very under rated.. IMO

Would love Denzel Washington..
Steven Seagal, he might have said no to the first one because he doesn't have any respect for Van Damme but now that his character is dead... Perhaps he'll come on board.

I think in the shootout at the airport Clint Eastwood should have walked in
as an old man..... and he would whip out his gun.... "Do ya feel lucky punk???"

Did anyone say Robert De Niro? I know he was more of a gangster type than action movie, but still would be good.

reply

Roddy Piper and Keith David

Must haves for the next one :

Steven Seagal
Wesley Snipes
Michael Biehn
Jackie Chan
and a cameo for Clint Eastwood.

It'd be really funny to see Bruce Campbell and Sam J. Jones in the movie somewhere...

reply

It needs Rob Schneider.

The Rock

are the only possible worthy additions I can think of tbh. There are so many actions stars who made numerous action films in the 80s & 90s that the list could go on and on. A couple have mentioned Bosworth and Dudikoff, but anyone remember Lorenzo Lamas? or Thomas Ian Griffith?? Jesus his films were bloody appalling! (although Timecop 2 was ok I guess).

The Rock is really from a different generation of action stars, although his on screen personality would mesh *very* well with The Expendables.

One suggestion after watching the new Tarantino flick......Franco Nero as one of the bad guys! He was one of the main villains in DIE HARD 2, so that connection with Willis is already there.

Yeah, Johnson is a newer action star but it wouldn't matter since Couture, Statham, and Crews are newer stars too. Plus, he was seen as the next Schwarzenegger/Stallone when he first bursted into the movie scene so it makes sense.

Knawmean?!

People who may not have been mentioned yet, that I'd like to see in action roles, again...

Bruce Campbell
Dale Midkiff
Nathan Fillion
Josh Holloway

Finally, and a little off-topic (apologies to the op), but I would like to see Fillion's Castle cast mate, Jon Huertas, in an action role (as lead character).
I'd think he'd do well in that genre and he's already proven he also works very well in an ensemble situation.
