Her character is supposed to be this 10/10 sexy girl who allows Demi Moore to recapture her prime ... I wouldn't call Qualley ugly, but I think she's just a step above average at best. I don't know if I buy her as being as hot as this movie tries to portray.
Demi Moore in her prime was certainly on that level (e.g. Striptease), but I don't know if Qualley is
I doubt the director wanted a 'hot' looking actress with 'sex appeal' that could distract the audience from the substance of the movie; instead, they likely opted for someone quirkier with good shape. After all it's not a Michael Bay movie. The beauty of the movie is that at no nude scene, one would think of ILF intention, and the viewers are still glued to the plot and visuals of the movie.

Margaret Qualley revealed in interviews that her breasts in the movie are not her own; they are prosthetics designed by French makeup artist Pierre Olivier Persin. Qualley stated, "Unfortunately, there is no magic boob potion, so we had to glue those on. Coralie Fargeat (the movie's director) found an incredible prosthetic team to endow me with the rack of a lifetime, just not my lifetime."
That had to feel a little awkward to tell her : "sorry, your breasts are not nice enough. We have to put these prosthetics instead"

She’s an 8 and the role really needed to be a 9 or 10, plus they glued fake tits on her.
I don’t know why they didn’t just cast a 10, but I've noticed that women directors don’t like casting hotties. Remember American Psycho? Bateman’s girlfriends and whores are 5.5-7.5 tops, they should be some of the most stunning women in New York.
