Seriously, why so much hate?

There's a hell of a lot of negativity towards this film, I'm just curious why? The people who hate it generally take the reason as it's 'hideous' 'piece of crap' 'boring' 'worst movie ever' and I'm genuinely puzzled as to why?
I loved the movie, deffinately one of the best I've seen this year so far.
Iwth any movie like this, a re-telling, you have to take it with a pinch of salt but I don't find there anything hideously bad about it.
Ok Kristen Stewart isn't Meryl Streep but she isn't awful! I'm by no means her biggest fan by a long shot but she's fine as Snow White. Charlize is fabulous! Looks amazing and there's so much (maybe too much) complaining about her screaming. I don't see what's so wrong about this, the Queen has an icy, heartless exterior and keeps her cool around people. Only when she's alone with her brother does she allow herself to be a screaming nut case, I think that's very right for her character. She's worried for her fate, insecure and a class A psycho! Do you think Madonna doesn't scream the house down when she's alone or when someone else gets to number 1?
I love the atmosphere of this film. A constant feeling that no one's safe and that danger is around every corner, even sanctuary can't protect you. Also the theme that everything considered beautiful is destoryed or turned ugly.

I know this post is probably opening a can of worms and will recieve considerable backlash but these boards just seem to be a hotbed for hate these days. Can't people just enjoy movies anymore. The freedome to voice an opinion has made everyone think they're a critic, and believe me I'm no better but please everyone! Lighten up!

This movie was fab, I love it! And almost everyone I know loved it too? So really, why so much hate? Constructive and civilised answers are prefered please guys, nastiness is unnecessary! Thoughts and opinions???

I'll be a good guy and not point out all your spelling errors and just ask you this: If this was one of the best movies you've seen this year, what were the others you watched? I can only guess they were:

Norbert, Norbert II, and Norbert III.

Snow White and the Huntsman was a poorly acted, horribly directed, gigantic Bore.

Many enjoyed it. I did.

There are folks didn't like it and some are just trolls.

Clark's destiny = Superman, Lex Luthor & Lois Lane.

Boring movie and judging from the amount of people involved in the making of it, the money would have been better spent given to charity. At times it seemed as if it was trying to copy "The Lord of the Rings", the fairies even looked like miniature Gollums. Glad Viggo Mortensen had the sense to turn down the role of the Huntsman, although if he was in it, it would have held my interest, at least when he was on the screen. Not the worst movie I've ever seen, but for me it was a waste of time. Can't believe there is talk of a sequel, there wasn't even enough of a story to make this movie. The fairy tale it's based on is probably no more than three pages long. Too bad the Brothers Grimm didn't write the screenplay and spare us this overlong tale.

(This is a small thing, but the fact that the child Snow White did not have raven hair, really annoyed me. Her mother specifically said her hair should be as black as a raven's wing and it wasn't, it was brown. I mean they couldn't, a) find an actress with black hair, b) dye the actress's hair black, or c) put her in a black wig?)

Yes. I enjoyed it. It was different but I definitely enjoyed it. Sometimes it gave me memories of the film, Legend.

Could have been better, but enjoyeble enough. People should give it a try, just dont expect a masterpiece

I didn't hate it, but it was a rather uneven movie.

Lots of great special effects and some great individual performances (Theron and Hemsworth), mixed with 40-50 minutes of absolute bordeom in the middle of the movie, and some laughably bad acting (from Stewart).

I'd personally give it a 5.5 or 6/10... nothing offensively bad, but nothing to write home and tell your friends about.

Oh, I nearly forgot my biggest gripe about the movie... the dialog (well, from an editing standpoint)! I swear, I spent as much time adjusting the volume on my TV as I did watching the first 50 minutes of this movie. Half the scenes were spoken in barely audible whispers, and the rest was yelling. It was maddeningly frustrating.

Because KStew CAN'T act!

This was a movie that could had been great but not for Kristen Stewart, with her it is so so. She doesn't have me believing she is Snow White on any level. I don't know if she is a bad actress, but this was a huge miscasting mistake. People hate that what should had been a great movie was ruined. Of course, if you believe Kristen Stewart as Snow White, I can see why you would love the movie, but you're in a minority

I know I am rather late to the party but I just saw the movie.
The biggest problem I had was that I was continuously distracted by the fact that I find Kristen Stewart at best average looking. Certainly miles from the fairest in the land. While I don't find her acting distracting those skills did not lend a charisma that would help overcome this deficit. She was cast so I am guessing I am in the minority on this. But is it a small minority? I just don't see it.
Beyond that it just seemed somewhat slow paced for the type of film it was.
5/10 dead average.
