Seriously, why so much hate?

There's a hell of a lot of negativity towards this film, I'm just curious why? The people who hate it generally take the reason as it's 'hideous' 'piece of crap' 'boring' 'worst movie ever' and I'm genuinely puzzled as to why?
I loved the movie, deffinately one of the best I've seen this year so far.
Iwth any movie like this, a re-telling, you have to take it with a pinch of salt but I don't find there anything hideously bad about it.
Ok Kristen Stewart isn't Meryl Streep but she isn't awful! I'm by no means her biggest fan by a long shot but she's fine as Snow White. Charlize is fabulous! Looks amazing and there's so much (maybe too much) complaining about her screaming. I don't see what's so wrong about this, the Queen has an icy, heartless exterior and keeps her cool around people. Only when she's alone with her brother does she allow herself to be a screaming nut case, I think that's very right for her character. She's worried for her fate, insecure and a class A psycho! Do you think Madonna doesn't scream the house down when she's alone or when someone else gets to number 1?
I love the atmosphere of this film. A constant feeling that no one's safe and that danger is around every corner, even sanctuary can't protect you. Also the theme that everything considered beautiful is destoryed or turned ugly.

I know this post is probably opening a can of worms and will recieve considerable backlash but these boards just seem to be a hotbed for hate these days. Can't people just enjoy movies anymore. The freedome to voice an opinion has made everyone think they're a critic, and believe me I'm no better but please everyone! Lighten up!

This movie was fab, I love it! And almost everyone I know loved it too? So really, why so much hate? Constructive and civilised answers are prefered please guys, nastiness is unnecessary! Thoughts and opinions???

Every movie on here that isn't loved by everyone has a thread like this.

Because it does just like every other divisive movie. Stop taking it personally, you're not that important.

I LOVED the movie, apart from Kristen's bad acting. And yes, there were a few plot loopholes as well, but the action was awesome.

I felt compelled to comment here after just watching this movie again after buying the bluray(which looks amazing btw). From the time I saw this film in the cinemas back in 2012 I LOVED IT!!!. The gritty take on the tale was well done it was like a cross between LOTR and Legend. I'm a sucker for fantasy films like this and this film delivered in all aspects. Especially in the cinematography the film is by far one of the most beautiful films I have ever seen. The sequel also has beautiful cinematography.

Now when it comes to the hatred this film gets it reminds me of the toxic culture the internet has provided. Look any art form is subjective there is no scientific measure to know if a film is good or bad. Whether a movie is good or bad well always rest upon the individual viewer. Sadly though it seems people can't grasp this simple concept and resort to sheep like mentality. I have seen so many times with some of my friends. For example if a critic hates a film they wont see it and give it a chance for themselves. I just can't understand that mentality. Enjoying movies is a deeply personal thing IMO as its meant to be entertainment after all.

I don't doubt that some people simply don't like this movie because they just don't enjoy it and that's fine. But some of the criticism I have seen for this film is overblown. This movie is the classic case of what you see is what you get. Its a straight up gritty take on a fairytale with yes some cliches added in. It also wasn't meant to be the disney esqe version of snow white. I believe Stewart did a great job with this version of the character. Could they have found an actress with more charisma for the role? Sure in fact it probably would've been better to go with a new actress for the role then a well known but I feel Stewart does a good job.

All in all this film is simply a great fantasy flick. It doesn't strive to do anything but entertaining for a few hours. I feel it accomplishes that but of course too each their own.
