It was nothing like I thought it was going to be. It was good...trump fans will hate it. If Trump wins, it could be a foreshadowing of what could happen given how extreme he and his camp is. That said...the movie itself felt real, the action scenes were raw...a couple scenes made me jump...the death scenes look real. Id give it a solid 7 out of 10. It really just gets right into it, which can be confusing. You really don't know which side is which and what they're fighting for... probably through a good half of the film.

good lord just STFU. Biden, on multiple occasions has threatened American citizens with F-15's and Nuclear bombs, but muh this is a Trump foreshadowing event.

I know right? Biden is the one who has defied the supreme court. Biden (and his former boss, Obama) is the one who has weaponized the DOJ, IRS, and other government agencies. Biden is the one whose administration colluded with social media to suppress the (true and accurate) story about his laptop, and the evidence of corruption found thereon. Biden is the one who strong armed Ukraine into firing a prosecutor looking into his son's position on the board of Burisma. Biden, as noted, is the one who has openly contemplated using military force against American citizens who engage in civil disobedience.

TDS is real, and something about Trump has simply deprived some otherwise intelligent people of the ability to think rationally or analyze evidence objectively.

If we are pushed into a Second American Civil War, it will be because of the increasing authoritarianism of the left.

Funny, I didn't find it very political. Didn't really find it to have much of a story aside from the photographers. I did find it to be a good movie though. 6/10

I guess you viewed the Western Forces as some kind of liberal coalition? A liberal coalition made up of California and . . . Texas? And the other resistance group in your mind was a group liberals from . . . Florida?

It seemed clear to me that Garland was trying to actively obscure the political motivations of either side.

3 of the things the fictional president in the film did that trump did or said he would do.

1. Disband the FBI
2. Label the media and the free press as enemy number 1.
3. Run for a 3rd term.

I think that he ascribed qualities of Democratic and Republican figures and groups to both sides.

You're correct that a few of Trump's qualities were given to this President. But it's also always the conservatives who are talking about secession. And certainly any resistance group from Florida you would expect to be conservative. And putting Texas and California together was clearly a calculated move to signal to the viewer that any traditional understanding of politics is not in play in this film.

It's noteworthy that never once does anyone in the film make any overt political statement, and the one time someone is asked what it is they're fighting for, the answer is simply, "Someone is trying to kill us; we are trying to kill them."

Yeah, overall I think they did try to blur the real world political lines...which is why you saw this from a conservative view, and I a liberal view..when you think about it, it's genius.

I've noticed a few things - in the beginning they talk about getting an interview with the el presidento.
That suggests they are journalists - not photojournalists. Yet, everything afterwards turns into photojournalism - mind you, no video cameras being used there. No interviews with any of the peeps they encounter - military or not.

As far as basically becoming part of the team seal 6 at the end, where they nearly lead the charge, it gets particularly ridiculous. I might be biased here - but I'm thinking that a legit trained unit would kick those journos out the moment they start getting in the way - and it seems like they get in the way too often throughout the film.

In the end, she even stops the execution with her 'we need a quote' bit. The whole thing is borderline satire. So again, real? The whole thing is a fucking joke as far as journalism depiction is concerned.
