23% gave this a 10/10?

Please tell me I'm not reading that right....

If this is the sad truth about moviegoers, seeing it has officially cemented in my mind the idea that humanity is doomed. When a sub-par comedy like this (5/10 at best IMO) gets treated as if it was royalty, it is a truly embarassing day for filmmaking. I think over time audiences have somehow duped themselves into thinking a few good jokes = A good Comedy Film. Definitely the worst movie of the summer, let alone the year, that I've seen.
As a suggestion; If you want a truly great comedy that doesn't degrade the intelligence of its audience by resorting to offensive and worse, Unfunny, slapstick humour, spend your money seeing 'The Way, Way Back'.

I thought this movie was hilarious!

It was a solid movie and had me laughing quite a bit. I wouldn't give it a 10, because 10's are great comedies that have re-play value. But I'm fine with the overall score of the movie.

I don't go into a comedy expecting a piece of cinematic brilliance. Was well worth the money I spent. Way too many cinema snobs with a blog, message board, etc. these days.

I wouldn't call WE'RE THE MILLERS the worst film of the summer, but it definitely wasn't as funny as I was hoping. When I hear the term raunchy, to describe a comedy, I expect it to be out-and-out funny, such as with THE HEAT, but the jokes in this movie fell flat as often as they succeeded.

Now I agree with you completely: THE WAY WAY BACK was a great movie! In fact, it may very well be my most favorite movie of the summer! And that's despite IRON MAN 3 and STAR TREK INTO DARKNESS.

Oh shut up you dumb hipster.

The Way, Way, Back? Really? Dumb hipster drivel.

I hate hipsters. You a-holes ruin everything. Don't you have some sidewalk to sit on and act homeless?

very intelligent argument.

REALLY? The Way, Way Back was twice the film that We're the Millers turned out to be. Doubt you even saw TWWB so shut up about it. See BOTH films, then get back to me with an unbiased argument. Or if you HAVE actually seen both, craft at least a decent thought about it rather than resorting to name calling, because honestly, no offence, but your coming off either a troll or very idiotic based on your post.

Im not going to lie, i LOLed at this pretty hard. Thanks for the best laugh I've had all week!

I did enjoy We're The Millers, but I have to agree that The Way, Way Back was one of the best two films of the summer. The best film of the summer was Fruitvale Station.

Sister, when I've raised hell, you'll know it!

I have not seen We're the Millers yet but watched the advert in the cinema and it looks excellent. I will watch it just for Will Poulter - I think he is decent - well kind of - hated him in The Chronicles of Narnia but loved him in Wild Bill.

I have never heard of The Way, Way Back but looks good, will keep an eye out for that as well.

Not sure if anyone said this. But I wouldn't be surprised if some of those aren't real or if some people made a deal to vote. Even if it is pretty good.

reply

It's ok...you wouldn't like it unless you ever had a hot stripper girlfriend pose as your wife before. This movie had great comical timing and a series of hilarious situations that only a few people have actually experienced. I loved it!

reply

This movie is a 10/10 for Jennifer Aniston being a stripper. Enough said.
