Decide for yourself, but to this DM1 lover, pretty awful

I couldn't believe how bad it was. So much potential completely wasted. This was a disjointed, meandering, mixed up mess. It was like they really had no idea what to do with Gru after making him a good guy. The villain was lousy and there was no suspense whatsoever during the final fight. I had to go home and watch the first one again to wash the bad taste of this garbage out of my mouth...

I really enjoyed DM1. 2? I laughed but I didn't enjoy it near as much as the first. I didn't enjoy Lucy or her plot. The kids were almost an afterthought and I really didn't like the animal testing and the testing on the minions. For some reason it just rubbed me the wrong way. I'm not quite sure why it did, but it was hard to overlook. It was alright but wasn't as good as the first.

This film was pointless. DM1 was almost perfect. DM2 had a bad plot with bad characters. Romance was the theme and it failed.

Really? Made perfect sense to me, and personally I liked this film better than then first simply for the new romantic element.

I agree 100%. I loved DM1. Seen it probably 3 or 4 times. Very excited to see the sequel and was pretty sad when I realized about 45 minutes in that I hadn't really laughed or cracked a smile once.

i agree. the first one was a 7 for me. this one is a 5-6. it's hard to point out what exactly made it inferior but then again it's really hard for sequels to shine next to a superb first part. you could tell from all the advertising that they would overuse the minions and they did. they added a woman for gru (they sort of had to and some may like that) and gave in to way too many tropes/cliches without humoristic payoff. even though i do not appreciate the overall premise (gru working with the anti villain guys and falling in love) i liked the beginning of the film and loved the jelly gun fight scene but all in all was a bit disappointed.

it's still a family friendly animation movie. 8+ is reserved for movies where people get shot and mutilated and women show their bazonkas. ;-)

wow... this... is... i dont know.
I dont think i ever saw a IMDB post that had the common decency to point out at the title that everyone has his own opinion instead of screaming "worst movie ever" or "everyone that disliked it are idiots". You, sir, win the internet (winrar is you).

I agree. The plot was very thin. Megamind seems like a much better, deeper movie in the same theme.
