Walk-outs

I saw this at the Jam Factory in Melbourne on the weekend and at least 6 people walked out during the first half of the movie.

I personally found the movie too disturbing. While I understand the subject matter demands that the film be dark and confronting I also believe that the movie makers wouldn't want people walking out in disgust and horror half-way through.

No animals or humans were harmed in the making of this film.

What scenes made people leave?

reply

I saw this at a very large cinema in London.

Before the film started everybody walked in.

Nobody walked out.

Of course if it was an open-air or drive-in cinema you could walk out and still see the film.

I also offer a service whereby if you really can't watch a film you can send me the ticket money and neither walk in or walk out. This is really popular with Australians who are profoundly shocked to discover that a film about a series of brutal murders contains some scenes that could be construed as "disturbing".

And so it goes

reply

I found it more boring than disturbing tbh. A lot of the times you just don't know what the #$*& is going on, or who is who, and the motivations of some people.

reply

Disturbing ?? Is netflix censoring this movie or something ?? There was nothing disturbing to me until he shot that dogg.Where they aware its a horror movie slash drama ?? about a mass murderer ?? And i dont care how bad a movie is.If i just paid 10 bucks im damn well gonna watch whatever crap it is.But that"s just me.

That's why people should know what they're going to view and why movies are rated!! Clearly, for all those who walked out, it was way past their bedtime!!

For christ sakes, there are hardly any movies for real adults anymore and we've become so weak thanks to people wanting so many sugar-coated bloody movies. It is fantastic that finally, the mature adults get to see something that pushes the boundaries.

I'd personally never walk into a cinema to see a movie I knew nothing about. If you are one who does (and it seems there are quite a few of you), don't be shocked and surprised when you come across a film like this!

Instead, STAY HOME, put the kettle on, sit on your sofa, flick the tube to Coronation Street, Neighbors, Home & Away or some Country's Got Talent, while dunking a sweet little biscuit in your sweet, warm cup of drink. This way, you don't waste your hard-earned money; blame a film because of your ignorance; and you leave seats for the big adults who know what they've come to view!!

Just a suggestion!

Maybe they got bored and didnt want to waste thier time?

Applied Science? All science is applied. Eventually.

This is the most likely culprit. This movie, disturbing? To children maybe. Ones who've never seen a single horror movie that is...

PS: I don't understand the 'I paid $10 so i'm gonna finish this movie!' theory. If you hate something, why waste 120 mins on something you don't like when you could only waste 60 on it? Doesn't make sense. It's like finishing a sandwich even though you hate it, just because you paid for it...

"dude i dont care i just love this movie you guys have a realy taste in movies what wrong with you"

reply

The only other movie I've seen people walk out is Uwe Boll's Stoic, a very disturbing prison drama.

reply

The cynic in me believes that that is exactly what they would want.

"A movie so brutal that people are walking out? I MUST see this".

I personally, loved it. Stayed with me for many days like a nightmare burnt into your memory.

P.S. I am not a serial killer.
