Catholic Propaganda...
...again?
-- Reason feels reasonable
Poster makes it look like a Blade rip-off. Surprised to see Michael Caine in this. Is it really that bad?

I thought the same... Here we go again: from the makers of *Priest* let's forget all the people that were turtured and killed by religion in witch trials(still are in some African countries and South Pacific islands), let's make these acts of demented-hate fun and ham them up with Vin Diesel! (I'm ok with the guy in some movies, but then again I thought Michael Caine had some selfrespect)
*Not even worth commenting on the pedophile angle... it's covered already at the Oscars*
I can't believe it.
Even in 2015, we still see Catholic Church paying for having their lies spread. Whiches are still shown as monsters or evil people.
It's been almost 2000 years of lies, and hundreds of thousands of innocent people being tortured and burned alive, chosen just because they chose a different culture.
All for a bunch of sex maniac priests to keep their power based on a rule of fear and threatening.
One could think of it as propaganda if they never saw the movie.
1) The church kept the witch queen's heart so they could keep Kaulder alive and in a way a slave too.
2) One of the "priests" was a wannabe witch who betrayed Caine and Kaulder.
3) Vin's character said the "witches" at Salem were innocent thereby saying that the Christian community killed innocent people.
4) The council that judged the witches were other witches.
5) They kept the witch queen's heart ensuring that she would come back.
Let's look at the propaganda. We saw three priests. We saw inside a church. No religious dogma or anything really about God or the devil. In short, nothing about the religion was really used except as a back drop for the movie in the sense of scenery, and outfits for three people. It made more sense using the catholic church than say the FBI, CIA, or DHS since the conflict was well older than the age of the USA. They could have created a BPD (from Hellboy) but then it would be more effort to explain what Kaulder was doing since his death since it has the same issue as US government agencies.
I'd imagine if it was propaganda, they would be trying to sell me the religion by making God look great, priests as holy warriors, talk about a soul and afterlife, changing my life to live by the tenants of the bible so I could go to heaven. The only hint of an afterlife was as Kaulder lays there dying, his wife and daughter speak to him and tell him to get up and kill the witch queen. Oh yeah, and the priest that wanted to fight turned out to be a wannabe witch trying to betray the church and humanity.
Great propaganda in the film, I'm converting to catholicism right away...
