The movie had a great story and beautiful visual style..with some able supporting actors in Travolta, Del Toro and Hayek. The two male leads were okay..
But how terrible was Blake Lively? She has absolutely no screen presence and no understanding of what acting is..and to make matters worse, they gave her the voice over, her voice has no power or charm to it..she has no idea how to narrate a story..

It was ruined by the direction, and all the changes that they made to the story, not one of which improved it in any way. I was pretty disappointed already, but the double ending just made me angry. WTF
I wish David Fincher had have made this. When was Oliver Stone's last good movie?
Wow, I was just coming here after watching this to see if anyone else thought her performance seemed a little wack. She is not a very good actress IMO. This wasn't a very good film to begin with but she added a whole other layer camp to it. She should stick to taking nude iphone pics of herself.

I watched it last night and I thought she was ok, I mean who else coulda played the part? And her voice was ok too, she is a beautiful blonde free spirit, slightly quirky and ditsy, probably good in bed withe the 2 guys, she was perfect for the part... I suppose Stone didn't want a too strong character for that part, she was just a sex toy come hippy, so any other actress would not have been good for the part of O, her character didn't need to be over-engineered. She was great

Yes she did contribute a lot to this film being an epic fail IMHO. Oliver Stone is the one who took an interesting story with potential to be a decent film, but he didn't deliver. I kept saying to myself, "this is an Oliver Stone film????" I felt like he was trying to make the style of the film like Tony Scott's "True Romance" and "Domino" (I love True Romance btw). Congrats Oliver you have a place next to Wes Craven on my Lamestream list of directors!!!!

NO you ruined life when you were born. This is so stupid, Blake played her part as it was written. No actress could have done much different.

Her acting, voice over and character were unbearable and was the icing on the cake of a horribly written movie.
They put her in the movie because she's very cute. But why couldn't they get an equally cute girl who would do the nude scenes, or a slightly less cute girl who could act?
It's really annoying these barely talented albeit attractive young Hollywood actresses who want to hog all the risque roles, but then don't want to actually do anything risque.
Definite eye candy! I agree with most of the posts, regarding her performance in "Savages". Wasn't good! Seen her in a few episodes of Gossip Girl and she wasn't bad in "The Town". Unfortunately, Blake's acting career will end before she turns 30, which is just a few years away.
share100 percent agreement. She was a terrible actress for this role, atrocious narrator. This movie didn't work because she was the main character, the movie was centered around her, and she is absolutely dreadful.
Wishing Jennifer Lawrence was in it liked planned instead, but then again she couldn't pass up on the Hunger Games franchise.

She absolutely ruined it. Her narration was pointless and stupid, badly executed. And we get to see chiselled man ass but she doesn't have the integrity to get her gear off for sex scenes or even hopping in the bath tub.
