I can remember as a kid, loving the movie Speed when it first came out. Then, a few years later, was so excited to see Speed 2 in theaters. Then, after walking out after the show, I can still remember that sense of extreme disappointment..how they could get it so wrong with such a great franchise. I hadn't felt that disgusted about a sequel since then.....until now with a Good Day To Die Hard. I won't even go into how bad this film is on so many levels. (It actually makes even Speed 2 look like a decent movie) That got me thinking though. What are some of your opinions on the worst sequels or terrible movies from a good franchise series. Here is my short list:

A Good Day to Die Hard
Speed 2
Godfather Part 3
Superman IV: The Quest for Peace
Batman and Robin
The Next Karate Kid
The Mummy: Curse of the Dragon's Emperor
Jaws: The Revenge

Any others that come to mind?

I wouldn't include Godfather 3 on that list, particularly the extended version. It's still not as good as the first two, but it's still miles ahead of most other movies and definitely not in the same category as the other sequels on your list.

God, I'm so happy I didn't waste ticket money watching this. It's one of those movies that the best part is when the credits appear, if only for the Rolling Stones song.

But I'd add some old school worst parts:

Battle for the Planet of the Apes
Moonraker\The Man with the Golden Gun (one has 007 in space, another has Bond vs. a midget...)

Those talking about Scream sequels as an example... should reconsider which Craven movie deserves to be on that list.

hold on, there is no way that toy story 3 could be on that list! and godfather 3 is actually a good movie, it just can't compare to the first 2.

as for the list:

- Terminator Salvation
- Any other Jaws but the first
-Iron Man 2/3
- Superman 3/4
-Rocky 5
