Why am I loving movies that so many people hate? I thought this film was great! And I thought The Master was flat out amazing! What's happening here?
Am I becoming some film snob, hipster, or pseudo-intellectual??
Because I genuinely really liked both of these movies.
I mean I completely understand why people would hate this movie and The Master, I'm just surprised so many people do.
What's happening?
Someone explain it to me.
The Master is on my top 15 of all time and Only God Forgives was one of my favorites from 2013. I agree with you completely!

I also think you shouldn't brand yourself as "snob, hipster, or pseudo-intellectual" because there's no shame in enjoying something for it being a bit more interesting. I'm sort of pissed there's a sort of a rejection of intellect where you're not allowed to enjoy something that's a bit harder to enjoy to most or simply more unusual. It really stops people from developing a taste.
