Sinister vs Insidious
Which movie was better?
Which movie was scarier?
Sinister for both. Maybe because children scare me.
I'm feeling rough, I'm feeling raw, I'm in the prime of my life.

I loved Insidious and was terribly disappointed by Sinister. You can't rely on a handful of short creepy clips dispersed throughout your movie to make me think the entire thing is worth watching.
shareIf some of you actually rate this movie higher than some of the other ones you mentioned... I don't want to watch them at all.
I've got a hard time to find some actual genuine good newly made horror flicks these days. Can't always blame it on poor acting and low budget because that is how some of the greatest ones were made. But not all have been bad, just recall some not too bad ones as of late but there has been a few at least.
Better? Insidious.
Scarier? It's a tie.
Pacific Rim: 7/10
The Purge: 7/10
Despicable Me 2: 6/10
Insidious on both counts.
shareI watched Mama, Insidious and Sinister back to back, and I have to say Insidious is the scariest of the 3. Sinister has the best overall writing, and Mama the best cinematography. All 3 are decent additions to the horror genre.
shareI'd have to go with Sinister, Sinister scared the **** out of me, although Insidious had it's creepy moments, Sinister was definitely the better movie, it just had way more creepy factor and a better story.
shareAgreed! Just comparing the demons alone...Mr Boogie creeped the hell out of me, while this vaudeville version of darth maul did not at all...
I enjoyed Insidious, but the 8MM vids in Sinister by themselves were scarier than this
