Anyone get the Romeo and Juliet reference
R and Julie
shareIt was about as subtle as a hammer to the face.
M has been compared to Mercutio, Tybalt, and Benvolio, but given that he seems older than R and acts as something of a mentor to him, as well as helping him and Julie stay together, he could also be compared to Friar Laurence.
shareSaying that Marcus was compared to Friar Laurence made the connection click better for me than for him to be compared to Mercutio. Good catch =)
shareThe balcony scene was as blatant as you could get. The scene with them in the water was another one for me.

The main reason that Santa is so jolly is because he knows where all the bad girls live
As soon as I saw the porch scene I knew it.
I don't know a lot about anything but I know a little about practically everything

In addition to the names R and Julie being similar, the other characters are also connected.
R's best friend M connects to Mercutio, Julie's best friend Nora, who wanted to be a nurse, relates to Juliet's nurse, and Perry relates to Count Paris.
Also the balcony scene is almost exactly the same and the war between R's people and Juliet's people is like the war between the Capulets and Montagues.
I don't know how anyone could miss it. They freaking beat everyone over the head with it...what with the balcony scene and all.
