I agree with a lot of people here. The OP missed the point, she was supposed to sound awful - that what was so funny.
shareBecause of the very correct observation that it takes a VERY good actor or actress to pull off a "good bad" accent, the child actress is even better than I thought.
And of course it was preposterous to not excuse her original accent (and many very easy ways to get around that)....
BUT...
the title of the movie, the premise, AND her character's motive, is (and we do this in improv) is always to agree with and expand on the information given. She has an accent? YES AND...a key and consistent thread and plot throughout the movie, and no harm done in that area, since she just needed to practise what she wanted to do anyway.
Not to mention, unless the director and producers are complete idiots, they would not cast a girl who could not do what they wanted.
The OP and the few who support him need to get a clue, a life, a sense of humour, or a combination thereof.
