Well, she's supposed to be an American kid who is experimenting with accents. She's a fantastic actress and did a splendid job in the role.
You know what they say... no one with missing teeth wears an Armani suit.
For goodness sake, she is clearly attempting a Dick van Dyke as Bert, and Marlon Brando as Mr Christian parody, and at times she sounded precisely like a Simpsons character aiming for an Aussie accent.
Did you pay attention to the movie? Of course the British accent was terrible. It was supposed to be. The little girl portrayed a little girl who was trying to sound British. Actually, it takes a good actor to play a bad actor.
She was SUPPOSED to sound that way.

Every time she said something I laughed out loud. I have many friends who have authentic British accents and hers was so over the top that it was hysterical. Props to her consistent acting ability.
I seriously dislike Adam Sandler movies but this one I have watched at least seven times so far...

Wales
All parts of Britain and all have vastly different accents. Then there are hundreds of regional accents that are again vastly different to each other. Just look at Liverpool and Manchester, half an hour between the two and they sound like they could come from different continents.
Maybe this is why 'British' comedians often have a large repertoire of convincing accents yet one of the highest paid Yank comedians (Sandler) has only two at best, his normal voice and his normal voice shouting. Tosser.
Both child actors are just absolutely terrible. That little girl is so gross and fat and annoying.

The poster called you a moron, not an idiot. I believe the other poster called you a moron not because you're "speaking the truth" but because no rational adult with an iota of sense would call a child they don't know and have no personal knowledge of "gross and fat and annoying" simply because they didn't like their performance in a film. It's a little beyond the pale to have such venom for a kid in romcom. share

shareThis little girl is really talented. She was in that film Brothers (I think) with Jake Gyllenhaal and Toby Maquire and she was brilliant - I hated her (character) and that was kind of the point - she was supposed to be a little t2rd.
As for the accent here - yes it was supposed to be terrible.
Look at this, it's a nighty. She would look sexy in that, you'd look like a moose!
