So young people liked it, and older people thought it sucked?

That's what I'm gathering here. Is there anyone here in their 30s/40s/50s (or older) that actually enjoyed this?

reply

I'm 33 and I loved it.

reply

OK - what did you love about it?

reply

I'm 49 and I partially enjoyed it. But I also had some serious issues with it. I gave it a 5/10 from my first viewing on Sunday.

reply

That sounds fair. The overall atmosphere was fine, and it had potential. I was at least hoping for a cameo by one of the original stars (mainly Heather).

reply

Yes, it was the atmosphere that I liked the most. The characters/acting and the story/writing were my biggest problems with this, especially compared to the original. It just didn't seem authentic or convincing. Heather having a cameo would have been terrific I agree. I actually really liked her in the original.

reply

By young, you mean teens and 18yo's? I'm 28 and this movie is one of the worst this year.

reply

I think of young as under 30, but yeah, I'm getting the impression that teens/early twenties really found it scary.

reply

I'm 19, I thought the movie was okay but it didn't scare me. I'd give it like a five out of ten.

reply

Ouija: Origin of Evil will take that spot. I can already tell from the preview with the little girl's Adobe After Effects demon face.

The whole time I was watching the trailers before this garbage, I kept thinking "why is the CG so bad in these upcoming horror movies? It's 2016".

reply

31.

Not bad ... not really good ... not even close to the original. Its one of those films that i could have made a lot lot better. The only thing i really liked was the couple that came back and seemed to be in the Woods for several days. The time difference beteren the 2 groups was nicely done

reply

I'm 30 and I loved it. Maybe I'm on of the few that actually saw the original in theaters.

reply

I'm 30 and I enjoyed the last 10-15 minutes the most, but the rest of the movie was a little mixed for me. The frequency of jump scares was getting way to annoying. But I feel the last act of the movie actually develop a good sense of terror and tension which for me was the saving grace of the movie.

reply

False I'm 21 and hated it.

I'm normally jumpy while watching suspenseful scary movies, even if they're not great, but this was an incredible letdown.

reply

38 and loved it.

reply

I'm 19 and I thought this was GARBAGE. The original is where it's at.
