Is the witch an alien? (Spoilers)

With the strangle light in the end coming thru the house, the look of the actual witch, the time traveling, and the whole ambiance.....could the witch actually be an alien?

reply

I actually wondered this as well when the room filled with light.

reply

That it is the witch playing with the elements. It became daytime briefly and the witch made it turn to night again instantly cos the only difference between day and night is... Fear!

Definition of troll on IMDb - anyone who expresses a view different to mine.

reply

It became daytime briefly

Just like when it becomes daylight where I live and my windows suddenly look like someone just shined a spotlight from the sky directly through the shades. *nods* that makes sense.

reply

day light doesnt look like that, That looked like a beam of light the way a space ship would give out

that light looked nothing like day light

reply

*shrugs* Sure...why not.....that or Santa Claus.
This film devalues the mythology right to the point that you can pretty much make up whatever you want, g'head.

EXACTLY man ! And that's a freakin' shame...

reply

Could be. The light at the end coming into the room from outside could be the ship either landing or taking off. plus the whole controlling time thing is typical alien folk lore. Not sure if the writers wanted to make it seem like extraterrestrials, but the theory could easily be applied. another thing was when the black dude had the tree fall on him, something HUGE was stomping around him. It sounded like a giant or something. the witch in the house didn't make thumping sounds at all. I'd really like to hear what the writer or director have to say about this theory.

reply

People say it was just daylight, but I don't agree. Sure seemed like aliens to me.

reply

Why in God's name would there be aliens in a film about The Blair Witch?

reply

You should ask the writer and director as they're the ones directly responsible for why SO many people are coming to that conclusion.

reply

Technically but I don't believe they intended for people to think it was aliens...
I mean other than that big flash of light, what other evidence of aliens was there?
It is more likely that it was supposed to be the witch using her magic lol.
I dunno what it was......But I do that this is a blair witch film, not an alien film.

reply

The big flashing spotlight, the foreshadowing with the drone in a tree where you can really only make out it's lights looking almost exactly like the classic image of a UFO, the time stuff which is closely tied into UFO and alien mythology, and then the big tall monster that could easily be interpreted as a tall, slender alien...it's pretty easy to see why people are coming to that conclusion.

reply

The time stuff can also be related to the spiritual world too and since that is more in tone with the theme of the film.....It is more likely, no?
The tall monster looked like an ugly witch to me...And since that is what the film is about, again more like that is the case lol.

reply

Except we're now told there's no witch seen in the mivie, so it turns out aliens are equally valid

reply

Who said there was no witch show in the movie?

reply

The writer himself

google it, he said "YOU NEVER SEE THE WITCH" "That was SOMETHING else"

so, aliens ?

reply

[deleted]

spiritual bullst doesn't fing exists the only thing that would make sense is aliens using some kind of futuristic technology to fk wth the teens.

reply

what other evidence of aliens was there

The ABDUCTION part? the fact that they cannot ever find any bodies? anywhere?

the bodies just disappear. thats not a ghost thing, thats an alien thing.
Also the witch didn't look like a witch, she looked like an alien creature.

Plus the sound coming out when the light was showing up sounded like a ship.

This movie is so freaking retarded in its writing and directing that they made an alien movie by mistake it seems

BEcause a lot of the details suggest aliens

reply

Their bodies were never found in the original film and we know that is nothing to do with aliens....And no that creature looked just like a typical wicked witch.
Find a screenshot and I am sure you will see that yourself.

Never mind what the writers say, they are clearly being pretentious about their film.
Trying to make out it is deeper than it actually is..
Nah, that was clearly a witch.
It looked exactly like how the kid described the witch earlier in the film.

reply

well thats what i was saying,
not finding the bodies once? ok, that can be anything. anything could happen

not finding the bodies of another (Bigger) group that has footage of a light coming into the house?

thats alien abduction

Is it though? lol. If the witch can make 3 people disappear then it can make 6 people disappear.
That light could have been anything. There is really no good reason to interpret that as something alien.....As this is a film about the Blair witch.
There is no other indication that it is anything to do with aliens.

People are just misinterpreting films again like they always do lol.
First it was "The Witch 2015". People saying "There was no witch, it was all a dream!" ....NO! lol There was a witch.
And now the new Blair witch film....."Hey, maybe it was aliens!"
Again.....NO! People need to stop overthinking such simple films.

It is not a Sci Fi....It is a horror film.
Think about it, man. Do you really think the writers of this film (or anyone for that matter) would actually think it would be a good idea to include aliens in a film that has been advertised to the public as a blair witch sequel?
Think how many people that would annoy, if that were the case.

"Hey, I know.....How about at the end of the film we make it so it turns out that the blair witch is actually an alien from outer space?"

Does that really sound like a sane suggestion to you?

reply

As someone else noted, it was lightning slowed down. The long burst was probably it hitting the tree outside, the one seen at the beginning.

Time seems to reverse or stop when in the house. Or something.

reply

You are referring to the bright lights at the end of the film, right?
Certainly makes more sense than it being a UFO.

reply

Except for the light starts from the ground and goes up, like a ship taking off. And the creatures that were out in the forest, looked like Greys.

I know you are resistent. You say "This is the Blair Witch, not the Blair Alien",
but wouldn't that be a cool twist at the end, that it turned out to be something
else than the paranormal. Like if it was revealed to be some kinda government
experiment or something.
There is a president, from another movie that also has paranormal overtones, severe
ones, that ended up being aliens, "The Forgotten(2004)"

reply

It makes sense if time is reversing, which we know it has to for the tapes to be planted.

They specifically mention that tree and how it fell at the beginning.

As opposed to aliums, which is never referenced or suggested.

reply

Rifts in time are almost always attributed with sci/fi.
Movies don't have to reference things or even be suggest in the dialogue.
Many movies have strange twists and reveals that had nothing to do with were
any reasonable person would suspect it to. Sometimes things are left
completely ambiguous and left for the viewer to decide and figure out.
I don't want my hand held while watching a movie. I don't need things
spelled out perfectly for me.

And also, what does the light have anything to do with time reversing?
It def was NOT sunlight or lightning It was absolutly artificial light,
period. It was ment to look like artificial light for a reason.

If you know Weingard, and have watched any all of the movies he has made,
he def steers towards mixing sci/fi with a supernatural bent. His segment
in VHS 2, where he has the fake eye that can see ghosts. It takes a sci.fi
based subject, having a bionic eyeball that can record remotely.
And take that and make it where they see what clearly seem like ghosts.
But was it pulling people fro some alt dimension? It's never fully
explained.

reply

So you're saying it was Biff Tannon? Obviously it was. It was Doc Brown's time machine. If we're going to go with complete asspulls because why not? After all, no one says it *wasn't* the time machine.

And also, what does the light have anything to do with time reversing?
It def was NOT sunlight or lightning It was absolutly artificial light,
period. It was ment to look like artificial light for a reason.

Of course it was artificial light. It was a movie. The specifically mention lightning blowing up the tree. The tree is placed right outside that side of the house. 2+2=4, not 8.

reply

That tree was already blow out.

And lightning doesn't look anything like that. I live in Lightning Alley.
And Yeah, They can make lightning AND sunlight look REAL, so don't give
me "of course it was artificial", becuase you know I meant that it was
MEANT to look artificial.
I just watched both Rouge One, and Deepwater Horizon this weekend.
One had people that were long dead in it acting that looked like a
completely real person, and the other had fire that looked completely
real, which even a couple of years ago we couldn't well. So making
lightning look real isn't a big deal, and we have been doing that
for years.

No one is pulling anything out of their ass, there isn't any reason
it couldn't be aliens. The directors already said that the witch
wasn't anywhere in the movie to be seen. Don't you think that
might be a clue for something else??

reply

It looked exactly like how the kid described the witch earlier in the film.

But it pretty much takes a big old dump on all the descriptions of her from the first film and the mythology. That's what I hated.

Yeah, it looked disappointing but my point was that the creature we see towards the end was not an alien lol.
We know it was the witch because it looks like they describe it earlier in the film.

reply

We know it was the witch because it looks like they describe it earlier in the film.

Your point is not solid enough, I think. We know that the people always thought of it as the witch. Could very well have been an alien all along(as much as I hate that idea myself). People, using their local history/folklore, just collectively marked it as Elly Kedward's ghost.

reply

a witch to you maybe but clearly an alien to the rest of us.

reply

This movie is so freaking retarded in its writing and directing that they made an alien movie by mistake it seems

SOOOOO true. Honestly enjoying the movie more now that I know it's an alien.

reply

even tho its a solid theory, i would be angry if it were true lol

reply

Maybe "aliens" are just evil, vengeful spirits instead of extraterestrial organisms.

Thit and thpin!

reply

yep and all those kids got probed
