Thelma & Louise was more direct in portraying real life men as wily and repugnant assholes, but it's a classic, iconic movie the same demographic who are working themselves into a frenzy over a surreal movie based on fantasy, not reality.

I hate to tell you this, but most people in the world are idiots. The few who aren't are the ones who are keeping humanity from destroying itself, and it gets harder every year.

It should be noted that "The Last Jedi" also made a billion while it was in theaters, and yet nobody talks about it at all. In fact, people stopped talking about almost entirely once it left theaters.
