First reviews are in, and they aren't good.
Actually pretty bad honestly. Sounds like a flop for Universal incoming.

Sounds like what I expected. Each new Vaughn movie is more Vaughn than the last one, just like Wes Anderson and other niche directors. At a certain point it just so super-saturated it implodes and become sickening. Still probably gonna go see it. If nothing else it looks like some fun performances from my favorite actors.
shareI say this as someone who also really enjoyed Kingsman 2, I feel like he had a couple hits in a row and just got too ahead and full of himself. He also needs to do something that isn't spy related. This just looks like more of the same minus the Kingsman name and neutered down to a PG-13 rating. I'm going to see it Friday, but I'm not expecting much.
sharehow many fucking spies movies can there be?
shareMsm have picked up on it being deemed one of the 'worst movies ever made'
Think its gonna bomb hard and sweep next year Razzies

Argylle savaged by critics: $200M Matthew Vaughn spy flick starring Dua Lipa, Bryce Dallas Howard and Henry Cavill branded one of the 'worst movies ever made' in brutal reviews
The film currently holds a 37% rating on Rotten Tomatoes
It features a star-studded cast including Bryce Dallas Howard, Dua Lipa, Henry Cavill, and Samuel L. Jackson
The movie, based on a novel of the same name, is set for release on February 2
I had a feeling this might not be good as soon as that trailer dropped with the CGI cat, and the reveal that it's not Cavill who's the lead, but instead it's this weird meta-comedic riff on 'The Lost City' meets 'Knight and Day'. From what I heard, Cavill is in it for like 5, 10 minutes. But he's front and center on the poster with the cast lineup.
shareWow they are effectively selling this as a spy movie with Cavill in the lead. yet he's only in it for 10minutes?!😆
shareThat is quite exactly what's gonna keep me from seeing this. Waiting on the word of mouth. But it looks like, from the trailer, he's in the first five minutes and the last ten minutes.
shareTBH I didn't expect Cavill to be in it a bunch considering the way the trailer made it look. I do agree that it's a bad move putting him as first billed and front and center on the poster though.
shareLook at the poster! unbelievable

Just watched it and it’s such an overlong and dull film.
Scenes go on for way longer than they should, the jokes fall flat and the whole film is just bland outside of a couple of inspired action scenes towards the end.
At least the audience score is not that bad.
And I like Sam Rockwell a bit more than Cavil …
