i'm planning on seeing it tonight and i'm wondering about the bad reviews. i really love the cast and i'm usually a fan of these types comedies although sometimes they can be a hit or miss. can anyone who's seen it give me their opinion? no spoilers please.

the most memorable comedies of 2011 for me are...

1.The Change-Up - 7/10 (my #1 comedy of 2011)
2.Carnage (this is a nice change of pace for comedies in general. for those who don't like those 'simple' comedies (which the other two i listed here would be) then i suspect they will like this one as it's got it's laughs and is something a bit different for the genre as nearly the entire film takes place in the same room and the way it plays out is nice.)
-.Just Go With It (this film along with Grown Ups are Adam Sandler's most memorable comedies since basically his old days)

as far as The Change-Up though... basically the plot is good enough for a comedy (even though it might be predictable but i don't need films to be unpredictable to enjoy them) that's meant to make you laugh-out-loud and it did that well as a comedy is meant to make you laugh first and foremost but it seems many people on IMDb tend to dislike these simple comedies and tend to favor more of the drama type and not that i am faulting them too much though as a good drama/comedy (i.e. something like 'Thank You For Smoking' (2005)) can be memorable but lacking those types of films that come out once in a while i would say on an average the simple comedies are more common and i can still enjoy them as some people seem to be really picky like either the film is great or it fails without much in between.

but in short... The Change-Up i think stands out from the films that are similar which is more of the simple comedy genre. but excluding the comedy type films i consider 'memorable' i would atleast classify The Change-Up as semi-memorable as it's better/more funnier than the majority of comedies released at the very least.

p.s. if i add in 2010's 'Grown Ups', then those four would be my Top 4 comedies of this 2010's decade so far.

I thought it was horrible. The way Ryan Reynolds character (in Jason Bateman's body) behaved was horrible. The worst one for me was the "catholic school girl analogy".

Yes, it was. Not even kind of funny.

It's really not that bad.
Not terribly original and it won't win any oscars, but it's an enjoyable enough comedy flick.
