Is it possible for a helicopter to lift an old, old wooden ship?

I understand about suspension of disbelief, but during that whole sequence, I was a bit taken out of the scene, because I kept thinking that it was impossible. Is it possible? I hope it is possible.

Otherwise, I was very immersed in the movie and really enjoyed it!

What I found odd was these ships were sitting in a open-air cave, exposed to the wet elements for hundreds of years.

Even if the helicopters were strong enough, you would never want to transport old wooden-clads like that. The hull integrity of a centuries old complex wooden structure is bound to be somewhat reduced - especially considering a complete lack of maintenance.

Better question is, if that conveniently placed ship sized hole was there, how has not one person in hundreds of years stumbled across it and looked down?

The helicopter in the movie was a Erickson S64F ‘Skycrane’

Its Max Weight On Hook is: 25,000 lbs or 11,340 kg

Not that there exist helicopters that can lift Twice that like the Mi-26T.

According to wikipedia the Magellan ship that Broke down in Moluccas weighted around 110 tons.

Tl;Dr: The ship itself (without cargo) would weight around 10 times more than the helicopter in the movie could lift. There is no helicopter that could lift that ship.
