I understand about suspension of disbelief, but during that whole sequence, I was a bit taken out of the scene, because I kept thinking that it was impossible. Is it possible? I hope it is possible.
Otherwise, I was very immersed in the movie and really enjoyed it!
What I found odd was these ships were sitting in a open-air cave, exposed to the wet elements for hundreds of years.
shareEven if the helicopters were strong enough, you would never want to transport old wooden-clads like that. The hull integrity of a centuries old complex wooden structure is bound to be somewhat reduced - especially considering a complete lack of maintenance.

According to wikipedia the Magellan ship that Broke down in Moluccas weighted around 110 tons.
Tl;Dr: The ship itself (without cargo) would weight around 10 times more than the helicopter in the movie could lift. There is no helicopter that could lift that ship.
