shareI've already addressed this. There have been a number of original TV shows that were critically and commercially successful that were chastised as being "woke". Euphoria, Sex Education, Bridgerton, Queen Charlotte (the spinoff), Heartstopper and Ginny & Georgia.
They are amongst some of Netflixs and HBOs most watched TV series.

Incidentally, you can become 'too woke' and absolutely fail or underperform: Such as the Rings of Power or, to a lesser extent the Wheel of Time. But this did not happen to the Last of Us. So relying on a franchise history is not a guarantee for success.
