Agree with OP. A few flaws, but alot better than most of the crap out there. Possibly his best movie yet. I rather enjoyed it. The story was clear, well explained, and made sense.

why is it that whenever someone doesnt like a film they always think those who can enjoy the same film are nuts, or losers?

It's a film, it was made to entertain. If someone got that out of the film good for them. If you didnt...oh well maybe the next movie you see will entertain you better.

There are actually only 7 or so ORIGINAL plot lines and every story is a variant of them. Its how the writer, director and actors deliver the story that matters. And onlu when you pay my mortgage you can tell me what to like till then .....Blahhhhhh sling ur hook elsewhere.

I enjoyed this movie...

I enjoyed the Rock's portrayal..

though the millionaire hitman was a waste...'I beat yoga' ?? what?

Me too. Reminded me of action/chase films of the 60's and 70's from the likes of Sam Peckinpah & Steve McQueen. Not what I expected.

I kind of expected it was going to be a piece of shi+, but it was actually pretty decent.

people just like to hate on the rock cause he came from wrestling instead of being a starving actor for years till he hit it big. rock is a better actor than many many many others in hollywood. and yes its a good action movie, good does not mean great, some people cannot except that. no it will not win an academy award but its not ment to be art its a purely entertainment driven movie for men who like ass kicking. doom was also a decent action flick, reminded me of predator, clearly not anywhere near as good, but still a decent flick.

Obviously I haven't watched the same film as some people. This was a very entertaining film with a good plot and a decent script. The acting was uniformly good and Thornton was excellent. Considering the budget there were minor flaws which I can live with. Much better than some of the rubbish I've seen recently.

I gave this a miss at the movies because the reviews were so bad, but later I bought it on DVD purely for the Rock.

I'm shocked at how good it is. The reviewers lied. This is a first rate movie that I should have seen in the theater. Sure it's got some flaws, but less than average, and it has good scenes and engaging characters, mainly the driver.

I guess my lesson for the future is: don't trust reviewers, trust the Rock. If he ever does another hard core action film, I'm there.

I wasn’t surprised it was good; Rock oozes charisma.

I remember this movie came out in my first year of college, and my college professor praised it. That’s how I got the desire to see it.
