Infuriating!

The husband, Bjorn, is a cowardly coward! He made poor choices throughout, first when returning to the house to get the daughter's stuffed bunny when the wife really wanted to leave, then not telling the wife what he found out about the couple and that he found Abel in the pool! Then he starts crying and begging Patrick not to hurt them. Then, to top it off, he could have gotten behind the wheel of the car and drove off when Patrick stopped to urinate but what does he do??? He sits there and doesn't do anything. I have about 15 minutes left to go of the movie and I just got so frustrated with Bjorn's behavior I had to pause the movie.

I had to pause it again because Patrick is punching Bjorn, who's not punching back, and Louise is punching the car seats instead of punching the bitch sitting next to her! Maybe this will end better than I think but for now, it's gotten ridiculous!

This movie was indeed horrible and I haven't been more pissed off at a character than Bjorn the pussy, who just started sobbing after everything that happened. He was unfit to be a father to that poor girl and the mother wasn't any better.

I'm wondering if this movie is an allegory to the whole LGBT indoctrination, esp. the trans agenda that's being aimed at kids. Parents are "letting them" (the left) confuse kids about their gender and having their authority overridden by the state to mutilate their children so said children's bodies are more in tune with their supposedly perceived gender. And just like in the movie where the boundaries are pushed farther and farther, it all started with, "We just want to get married".

I saw a recent Pride march clip in YT where the degenerates were chanting, "We're here, we're queer, we're coming for your children" and they were a group of adult men and women, being watched on and cheered by bystanders in the US. People are afraid to speak up against it cause they don't want to be cancelled or harassed by the feral alphabet mafia and their allies. So maybe this movie's situation is not exactly far fetched.

I regret watching this flick and won't ever see it again. Fuck the 4 adults (5 including the babysitter, I guess) - they should all be beaten to death.

While I can't stand what's going on with these transgender alphabet people now, I don't think that it has anything to do with the movie plot. I know it's very upsetting and also perplexing. I've had gay friends my entire life and not one of them has acted anything like these people are now acting. My gay friends who have children have NEVER encouraged gender changes, especially in their small children and never took their children to drag shows! Drag shows are nothing new but they've always been considered adult entertainment. Believe me I feel exactly as you do!

Anyway, getting back to the movie, I never thought there was any more to it than an evil, serial murderous couple who selects, as their victims, couples with children if they seem very passive. But like I said a couple of times in the thread, I don't care how passive anyone is, every human being has a breaking point and for this couple to have allowed their child to be taken away and allowed themselves to be murdered like that, was ridiculous to the nth degree!! If there's any other meaning to this film, I didn't pick up on it but now you got me thinking. . . . .

I agree with you 100% that all of the adults should be beaten to death!

My feelings exactly. Bjorn barely put up a fight and his wife, who seemed to have a more fighting spirit, should've been trying to claw the woman's eyes out and straight up gone into insane mode. Instead, she cries and gets all passive, getting more and more subdued towards the end. I get that they went into shock, but that was their baby getting hurt and their parental instincts should've kicked in and made them hurt the villains as much as they could without any regard for their life.

I saw a review in IMDb by a Danish guy who said that the couple (esp. Bjorn) was typical of the 'Good times create soft men' kind of average man in Denmark, who never gets exposed to the kind of brutality that those people living in poverty stricken areas are prone to. That's why the American remake would never sell if they made it using the exact turn of events - the audience would expect the couple of fight back, even if the villains have guns and are physically superior.

I'm not so sure it couldn't be remade here. Your "Good times create soft men" is alive and well here in the U.S. My husband and I always talk about how young men, in their 20's and 30's, are very soft, very unmanly! Masculinity here, by a certain portion of the population, is looked down upon. Thankfully there are others who don't emasculate their sons.

But, Hollywood can do what they want and if they decided to rewrite it some, they could have the couple fight back. If that were the case, it would be a much better movie!!!

what a shitty bigoted take.

Agree is frustrating, but I also think is just spot on.

We always see people who became "immortal" in movies, but you rarely see people shutting down by the shock and horror, which is usuall more accurate to reality.

Frustrating movie, but really really good and creepy.

And what about the couple letting the family get away twice? If the gamily's car hadn't broken down, they wouldn't have caught up with them. It doesn't make sense. It's like they happened to catch up with them.

I wondered if Patrick maybe drained their fuel prior to he final ‘escape’?
