I’m liking the new season so far, but the cinematography feels a little lazy almost like the editors added a “cinematic” filter to the picture. The look reminds me of a college/small-budget film that’s trying to look “edgy” but usually comes off as showy.
shareI think "the look" is probably meant as a contrast to the original series setting of bright, sunny warm & colorful Miami.
shareIt's very difficult to shoot a long narrative in a winter setting and get any kind of visual continuity. Things can go from bright to dreary in a matter of hours, one day your snow is there, the next it isn't. So to make everything merge together, you kind of got to digitally step all over it. It's annoying but I get it. Especially with a tv show budget.
