Love the look. Kind of Nordic Noir with a forest. His wooded cabin/house with fireplace and single string of white lights on hand-cut Christmas tree are very appealing. The town all lit up is fantastic too. It is the opposite of the tropical Cuba feel of Art Deco architecture in Miami and Dexter’s simple but but mid-modern apartment. Both of these work - complete opposites — but they work. 10 years later - family man with son changes dynamics. Dexter is more of a protector than predator. The plots have to be modified to fit Dexter now. Ep. 6 really got Dexter going that was reminiscent of the old series (S1-S5) when it was the best. I like watching it grow. I wish Debra was more like Debra - potty mouth and all. Whoever is writing Debra’s lines needs to revisit the old series to get a idea of how she verbally expressed herself once upon a time.
