Seriously, I am cool with gays and even with gay rights. However, the issue is when you see 10 year old kids believe they are gay because of what they see and hear, we need to take a step back and take a look. Slater was probably less than 14 years old. The fact that this movie touches on him being gay made me feel alittle weird. Whats next? A gay 2 year old baby. Let's distance homosexuality and kids.
The OP doesn't know what the *beep* his talking about.
I remember as a little kid feeling same sex attraction, and this took place when I didn't know what being gay is (meaning I didn't choose to be gay).
Back when I was in middle school I also had same sex crushes just like what the gay kid in the movie is having.
I have a feeling if the gay kid character was a heterosexual, and in the movie he had a crush on a girl, the OP wouldn't look at it as inappropiate.
He is(or is the OP a she?) part of a dangerious group of adults who shouldn't be around kids because he or she will spread to them misinformation about gays.
Some people don't want to admit this but I believe the main reason why gay youths keeps getting bullied in schools because the bullies end up with parents similar to the OP, spreading misinformation to them about gays. Parents like these like to act like an expert on gays without doing any research at all.

Not everyone develops in the same way.
Also, the movie makes the assumption the character is gay based on stereotypes. I would not put this garbage up on a pedestal as a movie that's pro-homosexuality. That's ridiculous.

What's the problem with movies having openly gay characters? The fact is some kids in their early teens are gay. The way they dealt with it here was well done and a positive message to gay kids.
What I hated about this movie was the stereotyping of gay people. "Oh, Slater is organized/preppy/cares about medication/doesn't like slow dancing/is upset that his friend is a jerk...GAY". Not everyone who is gay falls into that category. Some, hell, many might but it's wrong to lump people into that box just because they act a certain way.
I agree, and that is the problem when you have straight writers attempting to write gay story lines. In this movie they give a preachy message on coming out yet there was so much stereotyping of gay people throughout the movie. How Jonah Hill's (straight) character would have any insight as to the kid being gay is beyond me unless he himself was gay. The attempt to be PC was poorly written and it's apparent the writer knows nothing about what it is like to be gay.
Your concerns would carry more weight if you wrote proper English. That should be "Movies need to stop promoting homosexuality to kids", or something of that sort.
