Oh, FFS, is there any need for this?

Has Scott given up with the films, then?

Why copy GoT and LoTR with a TV series?

reply

yes. There is a need. But only if they create a good show and story line.

So novel, so deep.

They're making a film and a series. Prey was actually good. I hadn't seen a good Alien film since Aliens, the first sequel.

This series looks promising since it takes place on Earth, has Timothy Olyphant and the Legion creator. A series allows them to develop characters and storyline over a season instead of rushing within a 2-hour time frame. I'm looking forward to this show.

I agree about GOT and LOTR. Aliens is entering new territory, while these shows are rehashing.

Pretty much. He gave an interview where he addressed his age and said he only has so many movies left and that he's said all he has to say in the Alien universe. This was after Covenant flopped so i'm guessing he still would have made the third movie if he could have.

It does seem really unnecessary.

I really liked Alien: Romulus. End the franchise on a high and call it a day, I don’t need to have a Weyland-Yutani backstory just like I didn’t need Ridley Scott to try and tell me where the Xenomorphs came from with Prometheus/Covenant.
