You will hate this movie if you don't understand that this is a musical based on a Broadway play. So if you don't like people randomly breaking out into song, skip this movie.

You will hate this movie if you don't like big '80s hair bands and pop rock songs of that era.

You will hate this movie if you are not expecting a very silly, ridiculous, over the top spectacle.

If you hate Glee, this movie is not for you.

I had very low expectations before watching this movie but was pleasantly surprised. Lots of unexpected funny moments, great songs, and even though I'm not a Tom Cruise fan, I have to say he nailed his performance as the over-sexed rock god Stacee Jaxx. Rock of Ages is silly escapist entertainment, but definitely not for everyone.

I don't like people randomly breaking into song… but Tom Cruise redeemed it for me, because out of all the cast, he really sold his performances.

"Your mother puts license plates in your underwear? How do you sit?!"

I loved the movie!! Which I love most musicals hence my name. I know that some people hated it but loved the play because of the actors. I read somewhere that they wanted Constantine to be the lead in the movie version but Deigo beat him out. Since Constantine was on American Idol he has lots of fans. I dont know if he just didnt have great acting chops in front of the camera. I dont see any difference since the play is live and you are indeed acting. I personally loved the movie and play version as they bring different elements to each. So people are gonna hate it but the important thing is whether you did or not.

I hate musicals, but I quite enjoyed this. The music wasnt great, overproduced really, but it was fun.

I don't know...according to the OP's list (with the exception of the Glee part) I should like this movie but I didn't.

I love Glee (or at least I did at the start) and I hate this film. So by your logic everyone should hate this film.

This film is what Glee would be if the makers of Glee had decided to dispense with sharp writing and good direction.

Glee is nicely written. This movie was not written at all. One set piece after another, by plastic characters who have no business singing these songs. Stunningly unwatchable. Embarrassingly bad.

I have no interest in Glee (I'm picturing a teenager melodrama), but I loved this movie.

Glee? Glee is garbage for teenage kids.

This movie is not for teenage kids...

I am REALLY hating that anything musical now is being compared to that Garbage Glee.
you know musicals Existed before Glee don't you?
