Why Are Christians So Defensive?

It is both bizarre and hilarious that Christians get so upset at fictionalized movies like Da Vinci Code and Agora. I suppose part of it has to do with the notion of "Christian as Victim", which really hasnt been valid since the days of the Roman Coliseum. As an evolutionist, should I get as upset over a movie like Godzilla because it contravenes all "accepted" tenets of the theory of evolution? That would be ludicrous, of course, just as ludicrous as the sanctimonious attacks of the uber-Christians about these types of movies. Chill out -- it's a movie not a doctoral thesis or the "word of God."

They're defensive because they want to feel that they're kind, loving, generous, and righteous, a wonderful being that's destined to be in good place after death.

If you shat on that, of course they'll show you their real faces. Like they are showing their faces toward homosexuality this very day.

They're gangs. Gangs have power, and so does stupidity.

Wouldn't you be defensive if you tried to cling to bronze age myths while living in the 21st century??

Actually at that time more people died from internal Christian strifes than from conflicts with pagans.
whole heretic sects were massacred.

Christians portrayed in that film at that time are exactly like Muslims today in Egypt. It is a culture and religion is just a tool to oppress and suppress. It has rather little to do with religion!

most christians in the US are angriest about the school situation. they want to pray in school, but if they accept federal funds for school, they cant.

so they want to have their own school system, separate, without federal funding. but that costs alot.

but the teachers unions dont want a separate school system because it would mean less money for the existing main school system and therefore probably less money for them.
