Do you understand the basic error in your contention about the older movies? They WEREN'T "shit on by these idiots." So instead of looking for an out to defend the shitty movies Hollywood is making today, try to figure out where Hollywood has gone wrong today, versus when they were producing Alien and Predator and Terminator movies in the 80s and 90s.

She was walking into and around her home campground, for 2 solid minutes. Walking walking walking....2 minutes.
We could have learned evening we needed to know about where she lives in a 5 second wide shot.
This told me everything I needed to know about how not good this film is.

If you've ever watch any movie before, you know a pointless walking scene is a monumental waste of time, doesn't pitch the story, and is bad writing and direction.
Like whatever you want, but this scene was a huge waste of time.
That scene hit me as tremendously stupid. All that effort and moving cameras around work for absolutely nothing. Seriously, the director seems some tryhard dumbass.
