I just watched the movie. I haven't read the books and I am watching this movie for the first time. I haven't seen the previous attempts as well.
I felt that the whole effort of the movie was put into graphics, cinematography, and music score. Till this, it was perfectly well made. But where the movie was lacking, was the storyline. It was very weak. It just couldn't match with the hype of everything else. This is my view.
isn't a story the entire reason a movie should be made in the first place?

shareand the weak storyline makes you lose interest in the movie as well. I mean, I would certainly like to see it to the end but only graphics cannot hold me. There has to be a good storyline too.
Throughout the movie, I felt as I was watching it just to end it.
They’re were better options from the book that weren’t used , this first film could’ve been used to build up the mysteries of the fremen and the spice , instead they threw it all out in a 5 second blurb. Also they could’ve done something better with the ending than just walking off into the desert , so many things to end the movie on at this point in the book
