Just saw it. Boring until the last half hour

Way below in terms of quality compared to the last 3. Visually looks great, but the story and characters were not well written, and the pacing was super slow. Barely any action too. Did not need to be 2 and a half hours. With all that said, the climax was pretty decent and it does end strong, but not strong enough to go waste money on in a theater.

I agree its not a strong entry, especially after the last trilogy. There was not much reason for being here.

If anyone's interested, I reviewed the movie on my youtube channel. Appreciate any feedback. Trying to improve -

I thought the best part was the middle, when he was traveling with the orangutan. The worst part, I think, is when they reach Proximus Caesar

reply

I thought the second act was the worst part. Literally nothing happened during the road trip.

reply

Yap, same here!

The whole thing is preposterous. As if God would ever give apes the power of thought.

reply

In the reality of the movie, God does not exist.

reply

You're going to hate the next Godzilla and Kong movie then, because early scripts leaks have the humans teaching the titans how to speak

reply

He gave us naked apes the power of thought. Dogs have the power of thought. Dolphins too. What else do you think is preposterous?

reply

Too long. One hours was too much. It was going for forever.

reply

I FORGOT THIS EXISTED.

reply

Agreed

I expected to have the same reaction as you, I mean how high can expectations be for a fourth instalment in a franchise? I actually had the opposite reaction though, I thought it was a very effective continuation of the saga. I thought the character development was just as good as the earlier films and the pacing didn’t bother me either, I wasn’t bored for a minute. For me Noa’s character arc was emotionally involving, I was cheering for that chimp by the end! To be honest I found it to be the most entertaining instalment with exception of Rise.. which is still my top reboot film of all time.

Bring on number 5!
