Tell Me One More Time Why JOKER Needed A Sequel??
After watching JOKER and I've only seen it 1 time, I walked away definitely thinking this didn't need a sequel and felt it was detached from the DCU

shareWait till the third Joker movie we didn't need. This is definitely only being made because you don't leave money on the table. If it only clears half the last film it will still be a huge success. Mega box office with small budgets? This is the holy grail of hollywood.
shareIt made a billion, therefore it is getting a sequel. That is just how it works now.
shareNow? As opposed to the days when studios WEREN'T money hungry?
shareYes.
shareSuch a time never existed.
ETA: There may have been a time in the Hollywood Golden Age when studios weren't as hungry for sequels, but that wasn't because they were less greedy. The dynamics were different then. Home video didn't exist, so popular movies like Wizard of Oz and Gone with the Wind were re-released to cinemas over and over. Once home video came along, everything changed.
💯
shareBeware, Will. You’re talking to an idiot.
shareIts still detached from DCU like The Batman and its Sequel James Gunn has cleared that Up to be hope its less Incelly "More West Side Story and Less Taxi Driver" than its previous wasnt a fan of the First one also 2019 had many bangers this wasnt one them in my book.
shareDoes it matter?
sharePhoenix won an Oscar and it made a shit-ton of money. No reason on Earth for them not to make another. And Joker was always detached from every other DC movie.
