Is it possible people dislike this movie for the wrong reasons?

It wasn't perfect, but I liked it. I don't think there's really a reason to dislike this movie if you liked Frozen and Tangled. They're all fun, simple movies with a quirky female protagonist.

I think if this movie was released in 2010 or 2013, people would've liked it. I think if Tangled or Frozen was released in 2023, people would've disliked it. I think people are disappointed that this is the movie Disney made to celebrate their 100th anniversary, instead of an incredible traditionally animated movie that captured the feel of their older movies. But that's not a valid reason to dislike it. If the movie is good, that should be enough.

Also, I think the trailer did a bad job representing the movie, which I know is Disney's fault. However, people made their mind up before they even saw the movie, which is ridiculous. Now I think some people don't want to admit they were wrong.

When the trailer came out, everyone thought it was ridiculous that Magnifico was portrayed as a bad guy for not granting every wish. However, Asha had no problem with that. Her problem was with the fact that whenever he doesn't grant a wish, he erases the wisher's memory of their wish, that's clearly wrong.

Also, the trailer made it seem like Asha's quirkiness was constantly extremely annoying and over-the-top. However, there were only a few scenes where it was. It was very restrained for most of the movie, it was much more restrained than Anna's quirkiness.

It seems like people are desperately looking for reasons to dislike it, such as the lyric "I let you live here for free and I don't even charge you rent". It's a pretty stupid lyric, obviously they're the same thing, but it's such a minor flaw. Pretty much every movie has at least one minor flaw.

Yes, I respect other peoples opinions. If you genuinely dislike this movie, that's fine. It just should be for the right reasons, i.e. the movie actually being a bad movie in your opinion.
