So if you have watched 6 episodes then..

What are your thoughts about Rhaenyra having black hair boys and the king never questioned that if they were bastards?

Secondly, how lyaena (Daemon's wife) got burned by the fire? I thought these white hair people were immune to fire or only the Targaryens are?

"What are your thoughts about Rhaenyra having black hair boys and the king never questioned that if they were bastards?"

Is this a real question??? Did you actually watch the movie?? He is fucking gay, he KNOWS those are not his kids and accepts it.

Only the ones that are of real Valyrian descent are. You know, pale skin and white hair :D

Kidding. The only Targaryen known to be immune to fire is Dany and that's due to the magic ritual she performed. In the books that's a one time deal, in the show she is kinda immune.

And that makes the ending of GoT even worse.

Replying to your first answer.. They just showed people whispering about Rhaenyra's children that who their father might be. Nobody was certain

reply

There were people that were certain.

Rhaenyra was certain.
Her husband was certain (most likely they never actually had sexual intercourse). Remember how he always says "your children" and she screams "our children" as a signal to keep the appearances up?
The father of the children was certain.
And some others (Alicent) were certain but never had proof.

And do you think that even with proof would be a good idea to openly state something like this unless you are the king or the queen??? Next day your head would be on a pike ...

reply

Is this a real question??? Did you actually watch the show?? He's talking about her father, not her husband. Her husband isn't King.

reply

AH, sorry, my bad.

The king knows as well but he refuses to acknowledge it due to the plethora of problems that would bring. It's pretty clear in the show.

As you already explained in another post.

reply

The first was explained in the dialogue. The King is making excuses aka "the mysteries" of nature, like many parents do for their children. Self-delusion.

The 2nd: They're not. And she's half Targaryen.

reply

He has 2 eyes but he can't see.

reply

I see a couple options:

A. Viserys does not care about hair color, only "blood"
B. Viserys assumes the hair color is a fluke and silver haired children would eventually be born

Remember that at this point, the book Ned Stark reviewed, "The Lineages and Histories of the Great Houses of the Seven Kingdoms" had not been written yet.

As for Laena...that I am not sure on.

reply

He knows, the same way Tywin knew about Cersei's golden headed Baratheons. He just convinced himself not to believe.

reply

The most funny thing when Alicent was all : "Not true Targariens. Look at their hair. Must be blond and be black cause daddy is black".

At the same time no one of them cares that her children and heirs of the throne superpose to be black, meaning not true Targariens either )))) Because husband was never black in the books so all characters become woke coloblinds and pretend nothing is wrong with it )))) Yet shame kids for black hair ))) I laughed out at that.

Then 1000 years later King Robert doesnt care at all that his 3 kids have blond hair while he has brown. But Alicent is super smart yall.

reply

Did this thing happened in the books? Did Alicent questioned it? Or they made that up for the show?

And was husband of Rhaenyra gay in books too? And brother of King Robet - Renly? Were kids of Rhaenyra bustards? Or they just cosplay Cercei and Jaime?

And honestly I was surprised that gay husband could not sleep with her for children. For centuries gay men lived in closet and were married and had children. Because they slept with their wives. There was no problem for Rhaenyra to have legitimate kids with her husband.

reply

Well, he needs to be "openly" gay because we need to reflect the today world.

Whatever that means ...

reply

He is not openly gay in this show.

reply

I don't recall if Renly Baratheon was gay in the novels. It was clear in the book that Rheanyra's husband was gay and the parentage of her children was almost universally doubted because they looked like the offspring of one of her knights. This is where the absurdity of making the Velaryons black really becomes laughable -- they are supposed to be so physically similar to the Targaryens that it would be next to impossible for Rheanyra to have three children who looked so unlike them.

reply

King Viserys probably knows that the children are bastards but chooses to ignore it. The Velaryon race swap is unfortunate, in my opinion, since I think it would be better for the story if the rumors of illegitimacy were left to interpretation.

Not all Valyrians are immune to fire.

reply

The king likely knew but didn't want to openly admit it to himself or anyone.

Actor Harry Lloyd's GOT Viserys died with that golden crown, so the immunity from fire is a touch and go thing
