It's strange because it should be so painfully obvious to everyone in the city that they are not the prince's kids, and as such there would be strong rumours among the people there that they are not his and she is giving birth to bastards instead. The prince and princess both have white hair and have black curly haired kids as offspring? I mean it would be seen as a joke to everyone and make a mockery of the family.
