Question to anyone who dislikes 'The Hangover'
Do/did you enjoy partying and getting drunk?
It would explain a lot to me if the answer would be 'no'.

I don't get drunk often, but I have had fun doing it. I have also done some crazy stuff sober. The Hangover isn't funny to me because it just isn't funny. The gags were lousy and the characters weren't funny.
sharePartying? Yeah. Drunk? Nah, I'd rather remember a good time. Hanging over the crapper shooting barf everywhere loses its luster after a couple times. This movie could have been better if they actually tried to come up with original jokes and premises. F-bombs every 30 seconds do not make clever (or even funny) dialogue.

So getting drunk and sick is not my idea of a good time. Partying...depends on the party and who's there.
You can't really judge someone's opinion using this criteria. For example, I loved Some Like It Hot, but I've never been in an all girls band.
yes, did / do ;
considered this flick well-nigh unwatchable although somewhat redeemed by the ending photos
btw, found the second installment slightly funnier -- in large part b/c stu got bred by a thai lady-boy
maybe i'm old or boring -- although i'm neither -- it's just i prefer my drunken debauched hedonism within the bounds of responsibility and some accountability
No, I've never particularly enjoyed getting drunk and partying. However, as many have already pointed out, the question is pretty pointless because most of us won't be lucky (or, in most cases ''unlucky'') enough to experience plots of popular movies. Yes, I greatly enjoyed Gladiator and Braveheart, but that doesn't mean I enjoy killing people in bloody and inventive ways and getting myself killed. Also, even though I don't enjoy drinking myself, I can still find humor centered around alcohol and drugs to be funny. However, I just didn't think this movie had anything particular going for it. IMO it was a pretty good movie acting-wise, and the plot had some interesting moments and characters, particularly the stripper and her baby. However, it's a COMEDY, and if it isn't funny it pretty much fails at what it sets out to do. I laughed a few times, and one of the them was the infamous
''Calling Dr. *beep*, which is only funny the first time. Also the concept wasn't that original (Dude, Where's My Car), and, to abuse your username, it was just ''zomg-overrated''. Movie taste is pretty subjective, and comedies probably even more so than other genres. Even if you like something of a particular kind of humor it's not guaranteed you will like something similar, and it does not exclude liking something completely different. For example I really like American Dad, but I don't particularly like it's ''parent series'' Family Guy. IMO the IMDB ratings of the two series should be reversed. I can enjoy South Park for it's intelligent themes (and toilet humor), Monty Python for it's silliness, Two and a Half Men for it's simple blue humor and I Love Lucy for it's timeless humor equally. I'm not picky, I just didn't find The Hangover particularly funny.
