arcane is a great example how to do strong female lead stories. the women in this story wasnt born super strong. they were once weak. the men around them arent retards or weaklings to make them look stronger. there didnt need to be a scene where someone underestimated them because they're women. they're not fucking hot men while being ugly as hell. every leader and scientist isnt a woman. this is just a normal story where some women are cool and strong.

examples of how not to do strong female lead stories: star trek picard, foundation, horizon zero dawn game, queen's gambit etc. fucking stop ruining new big budget productions with this horse shit. focus on making good stories, not political bullshit.

Please explain how "it went pretty woke." I'm not trying to start a fight. I genuinely want to know what you found woke. Other than this show featuring a couple of female and black characters, none of whom mention or push any agenda about their blackness or femininity, which is my definition of wokeness, I personally found nothing woke about Arcane. Again, I'm legitimately not trying to start a fight.

Perhaps woke was the wrong word. Truth being, after their daddy died, I didn't see any characters worth rooting for. As I've written in my review, after the 2nd episode, all that remained were lame/psychotic characters and a plot going nowhere.

Otherwise, there was plenty of political stuff - the council and whatnot. And a good story? As I've just mentioned, the story post-2nd episode went nowhere. I suspect they plan to make this a ten season anime, hence the extremely slow pace - much ado about nothing.

For whichever reason, I'm comparing this to the game of thrones - the difference being - while GOT was also pretty slow, it had good characters, and there were plenty of baddies that I was rooting for as well. In this show.... not one.
There are plenty of films/tv shows/anime where strong female characters were done right in the pre-woke era. This ain't it. Again, just my opinion.

That's a fair opinion. Not everyone is going to like this series. For me the comparison to Game of Thrones is that none of the characters are truly good or truly evil. Nothing in this show is black or white, like in GoT, everyone is grey, and that's what I found interesting. If you didn't like the series that's okay.

Found nothing woke about this, quite the contrary, it really embodies the spirti of a good rpg story. No political agenda nor feminists, character are what they are with their own real struggles and ambitions. I found it refreshing.

Kevin Smith Masters of the Universe is woke garbage from right to finish though.
