Even if you disliked the movie, you have to admit...
Keke Palmer gives a great performance. The character is a bit one dimensional at the beginning but she really grows in the third act.

shareI liked the movie, but nothing she did impressed me.
sharenot even her reaction when she got the picture?
shareWhatever it was, it made so little impression on me that I can't even remember the scene you're describing.
Where I think the film worked best was in the early stages, when it was still going for creepy and mysterious. The high point of the film was when the main guy encountered the kids masquerading as aliens in the barn. That evoked a number of involuntary screams and jolts from the audience. None of the actors delivered a performance that was anything special, though all were fine in their roles.

I really liked her performance.
shareI didn't like her. She was annoying.
This film had great production values, I'll admit that. Aside from that it was...alright. Better than Us, not as good as Get Out.
In the 3rd act the story shrinks so bad that everything else seems big by comparison
shareIn the beginning I thought she was quite irritating. But her character grew on me and by the end of the movie I really liked her. And this rarely happens (with me at least).
shareI had never heard of before but I think she did play the ‘spunky Sista’ role pretty well.
shareIF YOU CAN STILL TOLERATE KEVIN SPACEY...HE DID A FILM CALLED SHRINK WHICH IS EXCELLENT AND MY INTRODUCTION TO MISS PALMER...A FEW YEARS PRIOR SHE WAS THE STAR OF AKKELAH AND THE BEE WHICH WAS QUITE GOOD AND PRAISED.
SHRINK...

Thanks for the link👍
I’ve always admired his acting but this doesn’t seem like my kind of story.
I CAN UNDERSTAND THAT...IT SAT ON MY TO WATCH SHELF FOREVER...I WAS ACTUALLY SURPRISED HOW MUCH I LIKED IT AND THAT IT IS MORE COMEDIC THAN DRAMATIC MOST OF THE TIME.
shareAlright, if it’s got more comedy than drama I might check it out, it seems like it could be a dark comedy in places.
shareDID YOU SEE THE WACKNESS WITH BEN KINGSLEY AND JOSH PECK?...VERY SIMILAR VIBE.

I never but I watched the trailer. That looks pretty good, I like Ben Kingsley and Biz Markie elevates the soundtrack…Just A Friend is a fun party song.
shareReally? She was the worst thing about it.
shareDo you hate strong black women?
shareYes.
shareMULTIPLE COMMENTS ON THIS THREAD TIP THEIR HANDS...ONE EVEN MENTIONS A "COMPTON ACCENT".😐
shareWhere did you get the idea that she was strong? Was there a weightlifting scene that I missed? Did we see her lift a hundred pounds over her head without even knowing it, like George Costanza?
shareMoron.
shareComical irony, you know, coming from the buffoon who uses the laughable "strong woman" cliche and is a living embodiment of a The Onion article:
Women Now Empowered By Everything A Woman Does

Go back to twitter.
shareGiven that I've never had a Twitter account, your non sequitur is dismissed. Also, LOL at "go back" in general. I've been posting here since this site began, and before that, I posted on the IMDb forums (which this site mirrored when the IMDb forums shut down in 2017) since 2002. That's like telling a native of a particular country to "go back" to a different country. It makes no sense, which establishes you as an idiot.
In any case, since you have no arguments for why whatshername is "strong," your tacit concession on that matter is noted.
*farts*
shareomg that's hilarious and it's funny because it's true!
shareShe plays the stereotypical ghetto chattering animal that never shuts the fuck up… most likely reflects the audience in the theater that you might find on Martin Luther King avenue/boulevard somewhere
