Keke Palmer gives a great performance. The character is a bit one dimensional at the beginning but she really grows in the third act.

Where I think the film worked best was in the early stages, when it was still going for creepy and mysterious. The high point of the film was when the main guy encountered the kids masquerading as aliens in the barn. That evoked a number of involuntary screams and jolts from the audience. None of the actors delivered a performance that was anything special, though all were fine in their roles.
