Is it really that bad?

Was really looking forward to this as I love the original, but 3 people have now told me how bad it is.
Should I still watch it or give it a miss?

reply

Watch it only because you're a fan. You'll hate it otherwise.

reply

Your right I'm gonna watch it.

Did you like it?

reply

Hell no.

reply

See that's the reply I keep getting, 2 and a half hours is a long time for a crap film.

Decisions decisions.

reply

I only watched it for the action and to see where they took the story. There wasn't much action and they took the story to unnecessary lengths.

reply

Arr ok I'll give it a go, won't be this year now tho got cobra kai to watch tomorrow.

reply

I likeded it!

reply

ESPECIALLY as a fan, he should absolutely avoid it.

reply

I think it's always good to know where a franchise you love is headed.

reply

Because the unanimous outcry of the Matrix fan base isn't clear enough yet and he just has to see it to know?

Come on...

reply

Sometimes you gotta see the trainwreck for yourself.

reply

Well that's a fair point.

reply

As I've said elsewhere, I'd put it on par with Revolutions, except Revolutions was an integral and organic chapter in a larger story, whereas this... isn't. To be blunt, it was mostly just unnecessary.

I didn't hate it as much as most people seem to, but I guess the best even I can say is, it's not the worst use of 2 and a half hours I can think of; but if, on the other hand, you decide to skip it... I also have to say you won't be missing much.

reply

Im Intrigued, I know I'll watch it at some point, just wish people were saying how great it was.
Feel disappointed before I've watched it.

reply

It’s bad. Skip it

it was actually really good and intelligent. the entire way they set it up by making fun about it turning it into a video game... it felt almost like she wanted to remind us on what she was trying to say with the first movie. they were bringing this up word by word even.

The first movie was kind of a mirror of our own world, and... just look at recent years how humans behave, how the world goes pretty much...it repeats itself just like a new version of the matrix, wich then makes totally sense on how they set the 4th movie up.

People forgot about everything that happened, as if it was completely pointless...the overall moral of the story. people forgot about it and turned it into just a movie (or video game in this case) and every scene in the movie that was kind of awkward...looked straight on purpose...just like another mirror of the real word like: ''you think this thing in the movie is dumb? hey look outside because the same thing is actually happen but you dont call that dumb but just...gave up''

like the one guy saying ''people act like as if the matrix had won'' or the architect stating that ''he can treat his humans as bad as he wants...because they dont care anyways and stay in their pods happily''

its literally our world mirrored on a movie canvas...

i actually think matrix 4 was phenomenal, let me wonder if people straight up hate it...because it was too much of an accurate reflection of the current world we live in...so its too harsh of a reminder subconsciously.

So you had no problem with the horrible fight choreography? Or the forgettable soundtrack? Or the overly dark action sequences where you couldn’t even tell what was going on?

The endless “re-hashing” of scenes from the first film and the hundreds of flashbacks didn’t bother you either? The yellow suit Morpheus who dances around and acts nothing like the real one also didn’t bother you?

You were also okay with the constant meta being shoved down our throats and cheap humor?

Wow you really are a forgiving person.

reply

It's computer inter-stating.... in Zero zone. It has computer coded coloring The flashbacks played with time creating a good movie effect and looked classy. It's a techno-system movie and has plausible value. The Dark World and it's heroes escaping it creates a good resolution or ending and leaves you satisfied. IO or the machine World gave you a hint about a dreamy sci-fi destiny.... more Matrix than Matrix is my motto for this movie. I was able to enjoy the finer construction since Andy or Lily wasn't involved.

reply

"plausible value"
OMG lol! What a ringing endorsement.

reply

It’s not bad at all. Watch it and see.

reply

It's just such a mess! There is of course no reason for it to exist, other than to make another sequel.

It takes getting to the half-way point to just answer the obvious question: How are Neo and Trinity alive when they got killed off in the last movie? And the answer isn't that great.

Plus, TONS of random, obscure technological jargon that even I, as a previous computer industry employee, found to be something I had to look up.

The action sequences are even just "meh." Lots of stuff blowing up, etc., but to no cohesive effect.

reply

It’s mediocre at best. Just a lot of people expect more from the franchise.

reply

3 was trash. 4 is even worse. Can't believe it.
