I was hopping for something else than

... vampires.

And worse part: I realized what it was as soon as I saw the dead cat ...

Was really hopping for more mystery than exposition ...

I actually loved how they usedVampire ism as a biblical prophecy- with actual scriptural interpretation .

reply

Yes I thought that was fun too.

It's quite unfortunate that telling people this though, is effectively spoiling the story. So it's tricky to warn people coming in.

reply

There's a reason i used spoiler tags, don't you think???

reply

I wasn't scolding you. I was lamenting the difficulty in being able to advertise this show to people properly.

reply

Well, it was telegraphed pretty early on.

reply

Some people were disappointed to see what the show was actually about.

reply

Count me in that group. I guess I can see how the angle would appeal to some viewers, but not me. I think the whole vampire thing is way overdone in modern cinema.

reply

The vampire part of the show was not what I had a problem with. The way it was revealed and used was very biblical, which I enjoyed. Are vampires fallen angels or demons in this world? I don't think it was a coincidence it was in holy lands.

reply

If it wasn't in the holly land most likely the priest would had seen the monster for what he was: a monster.

But I guess that was the point of the show, faith is nothing else but self-delusion ...

I was kinda hoping for more than that too, but after a while, I saw this as being inspired by Stephen King's "Salem's Lot". Since there's a new movie coming out, if it sucks, at least people have this as well as the 1975 miniseries. The 2004 miniseries was meh.
