the show is about forgiveness. Plain and simple
the main thing about Midnight Mass and I have been watching the show all day today, is that the main thing/theme of the show is forgiveness

The show is about organized religion.
and second chances.
shareI like the way you can see something as beautiful as forgiveness in this. Could you explain what you mean?
I saw that a man who spent his life surrounding himself with religious ideology so much so that when something extraordinary happened to him, all he could do was see it through the lens he had created for himself.
well maybe you should pay attention to the show a little bit more to understand about me mentioning forgiveness thats pretty much in the show
Wow, so you're a dick, thanks for letting me know . . .
sharewell at least I know what the show is really about unlike you
sharehahahaha please. You have absolutely no idea what you are talking about.
shareIs that why you go out of your way to not explain simple questions and instead invest the time on attacking others?
You have absolutely no fucking idea and are unable to explain with your own words why this is about forgiveness. You will now either not answer, insult me and/or google someone else's points and post them to brush over the obvious fact that you bit off more than you can chew.
OP's a moron and most likely doesn't know what he's talking about, but I think you've gathered as much. But I do think the nature of forgiveness plays a small role.
I think the show is a meditation on a number of concepts, with forgiveness being one of the more peripherally related ones. I think more specifically, the movie deals with the concept of guilt.
For me, I think, symbolically, Riley is consumed by his own guilt and shame. He also refuses to follow Monsignor's path...which in, contrast is to that presume lack of guilt/shame means total innocence (recall his revised reaction to Joe's death). His lack of guilt/shame leads him to condone and advocate horrendous things. Forgiveness requires the acknowledgment of wrongdoing. But here, both extremes lead to disastrous results.
Thanks for this. I must admit that the OPs reply has been a source of great amusement at my house for a while. I showed my partner because he knows my sense of humor and we’ve made it part of our routine.
OP: this show is about forgiveness.
ME: oh that’s beautiful, could you explain.
OP: IT’S ABOUT FORGIVENESS YOU IDIOT!
Lol so funny. It’s like the time I stopped my car and smiled and waved at a little kid to cross in front of me on his bike and he gave me the finger. I don’t know why, but that amuses me so much.
So now me and the boyfriend shout “it’s about forgiveness!” When we don’t understand something.
np lol. You seemed genuinely earnest, so I tried to provide some justification for OP's position.
