HBO pulling this off its streaming service immediately

Watch quick!

This is all part of HBO’s restructuring and all the other heretofore premium networks scrambling to reshape their business model to a model that is supported by advertising (YES! FUCKING ADVERTISING!) to support revenue.

We have entered a very dark era. I pay an additional 4 bucks a month so I can watch ad-free. It’s worth every penny. I tolerate ads on tubi because the service manages the ads extremely well; but tubi is not giving me content as absorbing as Westworld or Game of Thrones or Yellowjackets.

Americans are brainwashed by shit ads every few minutes.

Regular channels on European nations aren't far behind, but at least we get TV for about 10 minutes without. Or the good old BBC with NONE- but they collaborate with paedophiles like Jimmy Savile, rapist and pimp of children to Politicians and Royalty.

reply

People in the UK are forced to each pay hundreds per year for the BBC though.

reply

You can just opt out

reply

Then you can't watch live television at all, not just the BBC.

reply

Completely unenforceable

reply

They make it work: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Television_licensing_in_the_United_Kingdom#Licence_fee_enforcement

reply

How will they make it work? They have to gain access to someone's property first. They have no right to demand entry to any house.

reply

Of course, all did not happen quite as some naysayers have predicted. And now, as I write this, GoT is back on Max.

reply

They should just remove the last 4 seasons.
