Arya had to be given one major game changing kill

Many people anticipated it. Otherwise her entire character arc & long foreshadowed faceless man training would ultimately amount to superfluous filler. Freys don't qualify.

You make a fair point, but what about Jaime?

reply

Jaime is different in that he has already played a role in impacting major interconnected plot points throughout the series with a full character arc more complete than most. He has largely served his purpose. Not much left for him.

reply

Thank you. That makes sense. I'm excited to see what will happen now that we're done the, perhaps, done with the walkers.

reply

I think they're saving him, and some of the other characters who were spared this time around, for the war against his sister. Jaime is on the short list of characters who could end up killing Cersei. I was wondering if we might see a Theon-Euron showdown but ... clearly not now. Probably it'll be Yara who does the honors. And the chances of a Hound-Mountain battle royale have just gone up considerably. Wasn't expecting him to survive Winterfell.

Isn't Cersei carrying Jaimes child?

So I can't see him killing her.

reply

With Jamie surviving, I think now he ultimately has to choose between his sister and his new "friends"

Who will kill Cercie?

reply

Many fans have long supected that Jaime would be the one to kill Cersei based on the prophecy she was given as a child that she would become queen, her 3 children would die (already happened) & her younger sibling would kill her.

She has always feared it would be Tyrion but I believe Jaime is also specified as "technically" her younger brother by a few minutes, at least in the books, so he seems the more likely candidate.

he still has time :D

reply

Don’t know what show you were watching but Jaime was kick ass. He stood as tall as anybody else & was taking care of business. Pay more attention next time.

reply

I thought avenging the red wedding/killing the Freys was very "game changing" but ok.
