We've all had tv shows that we've loved that have been yanked off the air for no good reason. What shows would you put on your "Brilliant, But Cancelled" List?
I would include That 80s Show, Freaks and Geeks, and That Was Then on my list.
"Everwood" and "Northern Exposure", and hopefully seasons two, three and four of "Everwood" will be out on DVD soon, once all music clearances are secured.
As for "Swingtown", I think CBS is just burning off the year-old 13 episodes to recoup some of its original costs. There was never any intention to renew it beyond these episodes after no other network would touch it. Have you noticed that very few advertisers sponsor the show, other than companies hawking music of the 70s CDs, public service announcements or network promos. That spells sure death for any show.
I agree, the ratings seem to be going down, and the storyline is suffering a little bit. I have noticed my DVR isn't set to schedule this weeks show...just a glitch in the program, or do you think it won't be aired?
On the other hand, they moved in from Thursdays to Fridays, that could be a good sign.
Maybe not brilliant, but one that really irked me was Reunion on FOX. I really got into that show and wanted to see the mystery pan out.
Others that come to mind right now
My So Called Life American Dreams Jericho (NUTS!) Journeyman Arrested development (Never watched it when it was on, but now that I'm into it, wish there had been more)
There are many more I just can't think of them right now.
I'm almost ready to give up on scripted shows that aren't Law and Order.
Deadwood!!! Totally LOVED this show! Journeyman Men in Trees Ed Reunion...I felt so cheated to not find out the mystery!! Life As We Know It Carpool...they cracked me up
Deadwood (worst cancellation EVER) Northern Exposure (though after Rob Morrow left it wasn't the same) Carnivale Young Americans Fat Actress (not a huge hit, but it was funny & I like Kirstie Alley, even obese)
The Riches (know it's not done for sure yet, but it's sure looking that way)
