Is there anyone else who doesnt think its so bad?

Some of you guys seem to really hate this movie....
Why?
Well, I don't really watch a lot of horror movies, and I did expect more blood and stuff, but I kinda liked it...
Didnt anyone else?

watched it with my life last night and i sat through it but it was the most predictable movie ever, you could pretty much predict every line of the movie, let alone what would happen.

I think if it were rated MA15+ or so, cause it wasn't even gory, more of a shock fright, but you knew when they were coming, but it was your typical slasher film, stupid characters, as if you would do anything any of the characters did!!!

People over exaggerate this movie's mediocre level.

While it is a dull film, I still, personally, loved the hell out of it. It was fun and entertaining. Simple? Yes, but that’s what I like about it. It doesn’t try to be this big, bad horrifying slasher that most probably had expectations to see, which is why they ended up hating it and even if they had expected that they were probably going to end up hating it anyway.

This movie really didn’t stand a chance, because it has fresh, young stars just wide open for critical acting bashing and a plot so thin you can poke through it. IMHO, the actors and actresses don't try too hard and also don't let themselves just lag in the film which in the end was a perfect acting level for this type of film.

In any matter, this movie is very underrated and gets a lot of unfair treatment. It's not that bad, it's not even bad. I could understand people thinking it's average, but all the 1/10 reviews is sickening...

What is your dream? How far would you go? Who could you trust?

Sure it's miles and miles from being a horror masterpiece, classic or even gem... but at the same time, it's hardly a field day for Tom Servo and Crow T Robot.

While I agree on the Psycho remake being crappy, RZ's Halloween and this movie are far from terrible.

It's far from being a great horror movie but as teen scream flicks go it's watchable. There's more than a little nostalgia at play on the part of those who claim it fails to match up to the original. Prom Night (1980) was the Prom Night (2008) of its day: A plot-lite disco-slasher Halloween rip-off. Neither version should be taken seriously but enjoyed for the bling, tunes, and shameless jump scares.

Don't think it's awful but it is lazy.

I am a lioness. I will not cringe for them.

I quite like it, and still do watch it. It's very suspenseful right from the beginning with the mentioning of the serial killer, and the "Zombies, Time of the Season" music rolling. I give it a C+ or B grade.

It wasn't God awful. It was just like what other people have said: uninspiring, uninteresting and not scary. Also, I have no clue WHY this movie is still played so much on cable. Seven years after the fact, I still see it on the Chiller channel or maybe MTV every once in awhile. "Prom Night" is just average at best.
